it's all about to seed around here, and we (darling indulgent boyfriend and i) spent an hour yanking it up, and did about 4 huge bagsful from the field 2 fields away from ours. about 12 bags to go, tomorrow.

the question is... how do you get rid of it? it's green, so it won't burn. if i leave it in the bags, it rots, so won't burn. if i take it out of the bags and let it dry ready to burn, it will seed everywhere around the yard... that wasn't quite the plan! tried using petrol on the bags last time, and it didn't catch properly.
any ideas gratefully received.

We manage to burn newly pulled ragwort - with a little petrol help. It would help if you can build a little bonfire underneath to really get it hot.

Agree put it in the green bin for recycling, or take it too your local tip, they all have green waste bins, it will be made into compost and will be perfectly safe. Better for the environment all round.

don't send it to the council (they don't even bother to deal with and dispose of it on their land, i wouldn't trust them to dispose of yours!!!!) they have all these control sites for non-toxic japanese knotweed but don't bother with seriously deadly ragwort !!!! (but i digress...)

Burn, Burn and Burn

but the real reason for my reply is please don't forget to use rubber gloves when pulling it up, it can seep through your skin.
