I was out riding last night when I passed a field with a lovely miniature Shetland in it. He's kept on his own and has been for years. I ride past quite regularly and never ever see any body doing anything with him. He's so desparate for company that when he sees my horse he runs squeeling round his little paddock and always legs it to the one corner where, if he stretches himself to the limit and squashes the fence, he can just about touch noses with my boy.
Anyway, I assume he is just a field ornament as, although he looks in good condition, I never see anyone doing anything with him, his field doesn't appear to be poo picked and is badly overgrown with weeds and brambles and yesterday I noticed a nice crop of ragwort cultivating in it as well (it is very well grazed down but he is a mini on his own so prob no bad thing in itself)
