I’d be interested to k ow how much of a problem Ragwort is to horse owners.
An unusual enquiry but hey, I thought I’d gauge some opinions. My 5 friends and I are metal detecting hobbyists and we are always looking for land in the South East to search. Two weekends ago a lovely horsey lady in Hampshire let a friend and me search her paddock, we found a number of musket balls, 8 roman coins and some medieval silver coins. Throughout the fields there was quite a bit of Ragwort. It made me think, if my friends and I offered to remove the Ragwort from fields would that be a fair trade for allowing us to search the field with our detectors for the day? I’d be interested to hear if there are land/horse owners that would consider this. The owner of the field was delighted we found some history on her land and is now the proud owner of half a dozen 1800 year old Roman coins!
