The forecast is not good for tonight and tomorrow :(

I think I better go out to the yard and make sure everything is put away, we lost 2 feed bucketsin the last storm ... they blew away!!

Hang on to your hats
-------------------------------------------------------------
The country is braced for a wet and windy start to the week, with downpours and gusts of up to 65mph set to spread misery across the UK on Monday.

Meteorologists said it is unlikely that any region will escape the gloom, with parts of Wales and Scotland expected to bear the brunt of the bad weather.

And the longer term forecast fails to lift the dark skies, with storms expected towards the end of the week as well.

Rachel Vince, forecaster at MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said: "There is a deep low moving in from the north west bringing very strong and gusty winds across the whole of the UK tomorrow."

Gusts of 40 to 50mph will be typical, with winds picking up to 65mph on parts of the west coast.

It will be accompanied by rain that will spread eastwards throughout the day.

"It is going to be a pretty horrible day," Ms Vince added.

Along with the wind and rain, some areas of the country will also see snowfall on Monday.

Parts of the Scottish Highlands, Cumbria and the Peak District over 350m could see flurries, forecasters said.

After a brief respite in the middle of the week, storms and heavier winds are due to return around Friday.

I saw that on the BBC earlier

Aaargh just opened the front door to have a peek at the weather and nearly got blown back down the hallway at 50mph. Jeeez, it's horrible out there this morning. Torrential rain. Gales. Freezing cold. Horses. Turned out. Big field. Big trees. Big branches down? Oh stress worry and wibble...

urgh its horrid out there. I've been awake on and off all night cause the wind was banging things around. The wind blew the window wide open in the room my house bunny was in, i didnt realise and when i went in there a little while ago he was all cold and scared, poor little thing :(

I need to go and turn my horses out, one of which is not keen on rain and or wind! then go straight on to work not resembling a windswept scarecrow, not to mention keeping my 7 y/o daughter clean and dry too. yuck yuck yuck.

It's lovely here! South Wales. Blue skies, little wind...

Left my mare in full neck m/w in preparation, worried she'll be cooking now & I'm stuck at work. Damn metcheck! :o

Snap :) bloody lovely here in swansea, lots of blue skies and not a drop of rain :D
Rained a bit in the night but otherwise fab :p

And to all of you who moaned about the heat and lack of rain in the summer........welcome to the English winter. Usually more than enough rain to make up for a few drops missing in the summer. Enough mud to supply Champneys or any other health spa. Cold fingers and toes, straw like hair from being permently tossed around in the wind and oh yes, filthy, muddy, wet horses...........oh for the days of summer!

I got a text from my friend at 5.30 this morning saying she was going to leave my horse in as it was gale force winds and sideways rain, she then added she’d topped up his hay and water and would be back at 1pm to turn him out if the weather was better. That’s good friends for you! :D

Seems to have calmed down a bit here, thank god! It was lovely over the weekend, cold, but sunny :(

Sat inside shivering with the heating on:(

Should be helping OH clip but gave it up as a bad job today and had bacon butties instead:)

The weather can never get it right in Blighty

I saw the forecast last evening so took pity on my two (out 24/7) and went down the field about 9pm to put on rugs and neck covers. At that point there wasn't a breath of a breeze and the sky was clear . . . . they gave me rather funny looks as I rugged them but I told them they would be grateful later . . . . yep, it started here about 2.30am and was still bucketing down and blowing a hooly when I checked them before work. NOW, of course, we have cloudless blue sky and barely a breeze again - that's Britain for you - but the forecast for tonight and tomorrow is pretty grotty too :(

I have just come back in from being out in the yard, it has flooded, a strip of the roof has blown away and there are buckets and 'stuff' everywhere :(

I have 3 hairys out in it, they have part of the yard, the sand school and a sectioned off paddock they can go into, they are huddle by a hedge shivering :( I can't put their rugs on as they are so wet and can't bring them in as the stables are half full of hay and straw! :(

The liveries and my horse are tucked up in their stables smug :p

Mine came in last night have been doing since last week now, and boy was I glad when I saw the weather on Country file !

Put the little foals rug on this morning for the very 1st time I've had it 3 weeks and it'snot been woth the fight until today, got it on fine but it only just fits him dispite me ordering it 6 inches to big ! That'll be a new rug for Christmas then !

The weather is pretty dire round here, horses in, dogs by the heater, cat in bed, I'm on the sofa.
Hope the tackroom roof will stay on.

It hasn't actually stopped raining here at all. Yo and I share doing the horses, she does morning and I do the evening. both our mares are in l/w rugs out and i feel so bad for it :( don't have a m/w rug for my girl as she just out grows everything. I have to go and poo pick and feed urgh crappy British weather!! x

it was awful overnight here, but it's cleared up and there's some blue sky now!

what's the betting the rain will be back soon?

Dont worry everyone. My stables are due to be erected the first week of December. You can guarantee that the wind and rain will stop the minute they are up and useable - Blimmin rain, blimmin clay soil, blimmin poached up paddock - can you get wheel barrows with skiis to glide over the mud (mmh - dragons den!).

It's just a bit miserable here, no really strong winds or heavy rain. I did find that someone has stolen my feed, haylage, buckets headcollar and grazing muzzle overnight though, they must be making the most of the bad weather to steal things.

Blown itself out overnight here now I think but was really horrible yesterday. Magicmillbrook we are on clay too, I know it always recovers well but yuk yuk yuk at the moment. Touchstone that's awful.
