Whats everyones fields like this morning? 2 of my girls had to come in last night as they were shivering and shaking from the rain. Drove to the yard this morning to find all our field pretty much with rivers running through them so they have had to stay in. BUt on my way home a friend who has a 20acre field has a lovely lake. The river has burst and the whole field is flooded along with another 2-3 fields that join onto it. The roads are flooed and the amount of crap that has been either brought up onto them or come down from the bankings etc is a joke.

When o when with this crap weather going to stop.

Were supposed to be going to the races tomorrow at York but for some reason I think theyll be cancelled!

ECW York is cancelled. Our field not too bad as at the top of a hill - but poor neddys are standing there with bums into the rain, looking miserable, bless.

Please can we have a decent Summer!

i dont think ive ever seen as many roads flooded round me as there is this morning. Driving to work was as bad as driving to the yard. The roads were in the process of being shut just as I was driving through so hopefulyl I can get home without too many problems.

Im hoping it gives up soon, im having some mobile stables built on Monday/Tuesday!

thanks for that I was going to call them today to check - i didnt think many would want their horses running. Oh well well have to think of something else to do for my dads birthday tomorrow instead.
My other 2 girls are happy stood in the rain but their field has lotsof shelter if they want to use it where as the 2 that are in dont have any at all.
Yes I hope we get a lovely dry summer, even if its not too hot I dont mind. Is it time to emigrate?

Much to bert's excitement he now has a private lake/pond that he will inevitably spend all day rolling in and drinking from or just standing in.

He is very strange!

We are forcast for thunder and lighlning and more rain today so I have put a bed down so he can come in tonight

is he a hippo in disguise do you think (not saying hes fat or anything) Mine enjoy a good old wallow in the mud! so i think mine are at least half hippo!

ive made sure I havent watched any weather forecasts cos itll upset me if I see rain rain and more rain for the next god knows how many days

well its typical, us horsey people! pray for rain wen the ground is too hard and then the floods come !!
will we ever win ?

I put my boy out in a cotton summer sheet this morning cos it was bright sunshine at 7am!!! Its peeing down now and I'm stuck in the office..... whoops!

He will be brought in at lunchtime though (looking loke a drowned rat no doubt), so I dont need to feel too guilty...

My main field is looking good, but the starvation paddock is under water as is half the riding area

Its just not stop peed it down. Only Chance seemed bothered by the weather, the other four were quite happy to go out and munch, so will go down at lunch and check them, might bring them in, or the miserablest ones in!

Yesterday I went to the yard to feed Spike and he was really freaked out by the rain.
He didn't want me to catch him at first, then kept refusing to walk through water on his way out of the field. Just what you want when it is peeing down!

Then I put him in his stable and he danced round in circles, gobbled down his dinner and danced round again. When I put him out, he galloped off up the field as if he had been locked up for hours! I think he didn't want to miss seeing what was happening!

Our roads were more like streams at Epping last night - strange as where I live - 15 miles away we had nothing that bad.

Fields are under few inches of water in places.

The boys were due for the weekly come in and have a good kip last night and were both very pleased to get into the stables - I really think I have a couple of fine TBs in a chunky hairy bodies.

its rained here non stop since tuesday... lol we were on the news cos belfast was flooded really bad! and the funny ting is that last week the ground was soooo hard so the fences werent big, and this week its too wet so shows have been called off!!!
i HATE the rain...
