Raised lump over horses back - what could it be?

I have an unstarted clyde x cob who is 3 and I've noticed a raised area over his back behind where his saddle would go and just in front of his pelvis....if that makes sense.

Its not a lump as in a round ball. It has a surface area about the size of your palm and if you cup your hand and place it over his spine, you'd be able to feel the raised area. I've had my regular back person out who has given him a general MOT and says his in good shape generally. She palpated this area too and got very little response from him. Its not got any worse but it hasn't disappeared either and, on her recommendation, I may get the vet. She said to give him a week or so before I got the vet for it to settle down after she's been working with it.

Anyone had anything similar happen? I know he's still growing and I'm hoping its nothing too serious or that he's just bruised it somehow but being a big breed, he's not entirely sure where his legs are he can look a bit awkward to turn and move as he's still bum high.

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated! Also in Tack Room. Thanks.

The only way to know for sure would be through X-rays and scans at the vets. If he isn't sore on it, I wouldn't be overly worried, but better to be seen to, sooner, rather than later. Keep us updated. :)

Thanks! I'm going to speak to my vet soon to see what he thinks. I'm hoping its nothing too serious but it's worth checking out.
