I'm considering selling my old horse's rambo duo, kept it incase it fitted my new horse because I love these rugs but it doesn't. :(

I'm thinking I should put it on ebay but I want to put a reserve on it because if it's going to go for like £20 i'd rather keep it since i paid £280+ for it when i bought it. It's a 6ft3 in perfect condition with a 300g inner rug. So does anyone have any suggestions for a reserve? Also would it be better selling the liner/inner rug seperately? I've just never sold anything on ebay before! :D

And I also have a pretty much brand new Wintec 500 dressage saddle [only used about 4 times?] which I would like to sell as well does anybody have and idea on pricing for this? And how I would work out the cost of postage ect.?

I bought it when they first came out lol. It hasn't been used many times though cause I sold her soon after :/ and the rugs been packed away in my closet for the last 3 years, lol! I never got around to selling it XD

I always end up selling loads of rugs after a change of horse, just sold a PE turnout and under rug and just replaced them with a Duo from the above site!

Nothing like a bit of retail therapy!

Your rug will def make more than £20 on Ebay, and the best way to gage postage costs is to look at what other sellers are charging to post similar items :)

Hahaha I suppose that would have been the smart thing to do, feeling pretty silly that I didn't think of that now lol!

Also any advice on the saddle? Should I try advertising in local tackshops ect. first or just stick it straight up on ebay?

You'd more likly sell your saddle on Ebay. General oppinion seems to be that it's best to have a really low start price and a reserve rather than a high start price and no reserve.

Have a look at the saddles on eBay and get an idea of price for yours based on what's on there.

I tried to sell a dressage saddle quite cheaply on eBay a while ago & didn't when get one bid - when I looked at what else was on there there were so many similar to mine at the same sort of price and hardly any had bids/watchers.

From my own & friends experiences I'm not sure eBay is the best place for selling a 2nd hand saddle - especially considering the postage issues!

Thanks for the advice guys.

I've decided to try and sell the saddle off ebay first cause they're only going for around £160 on ebay. And mine is practically new! [doesn't even have marks on the saddle flap from stirrups or even marks on the girth straps from the girth] and the saddle, girth and gullet kit I'm selling are worth like £500 new, so i've decided to advertise it for around £300 but taking offers so hopefully I get a bite.

Also I have had a message on here about the rug, so if they decide they're not interested, I'll sell it on ebay cause a used one on ebay is going for over £100 and thats just the outer rug. :D
