rambo dustbuster plus

I dont have the dustbuster, I had the Sweet Itch one which looks practically identical except for maybe the material. It worked to keep them clean as well. But everything broke! The velcro neck straps all tore (all except 1!) and so did the material in only ONE summer! Maybe the dustbuster is more robust but I wouldnt buy one for anything but a very careful rug user!

I had one of these in the past. Nice and comfy and moves with the horse, very soft material. I think it did get a few holes in it from wear and tear due to my horse rolling on rough ground.

I now have a thicker one (sweet itch one?) from Rambo. It's white with green straps. My horse sweats in it, and this has been made worse as it has shrunk during professional cleaning. Suggest getting a larger size than normal in these.

<font color="green"> I've used both and found the horses get hot under them when it's hot - dispite the light, airy mesh-like fabric the rugs are made of. The horses wearing them would be warm and sweaty underneath, whilst the unrugged horses were fine. On very warm days I had to bring them in between 11am - 3pm to avoid them getting too hot. Mind you, we've not got good shade in our paddocks so I would have done this anyway.

<font color="red"> Another caution is about washing them! I washed a Dustbuster Hoody on a 30 degree, light wash, no spin, cycle in my industrial machine. When it had finished I found that the mesh fabric had separated from the binding around the ear holes and had completely disintergrated down the neck. Result? One ruined rug.

I've got a normal Rambo dustbuster. I found it stretched a bit - it was quite deep on a 16.00 TB. I agree it was soft material and not that robust. I only used it a couple of summers as I don't have the horse anymore.
