I know i definatly want to get a rambo fly rug but not sure which one to get! i have a 5yr old so the rug needs to be tough! I like the sweetitch hoody but is it as tough as the fly protector?
which do you use?

I have both ... the Protector is still ok to use after a whole summer with my TB wearing it, but is very thin now, but all the fixings etc are still secure

The material is polyester and is open woven, so very airy.

I have just bought a 2nd hand hoody for my old boy and the material on this is more like heavy cotton (although man made

) and this covers much more of the body, so makes them warmer ... so it you do not need so much protection this one may not be for you. I have also found that the shoulders seem quite narrow, as my narrow chested boy just fits into it, even though the rest of the rug fits perfectly

I was in the same position last year - I love the Rambo dustbusters but my 5 yr old made mincemeat of it, so I rang Rambo and asked which was their toughest fly rug, and they said the Fly Protector. I've had it a year now and it's still going strong, although he has managed to pull the front velcro off, but the clips are still all intact.

It's tough, but still very light and breathable. I recommend!

I'm on my second Hoody - the first lasted two seasons of 24/7 wear (horse has sweet-itch), and this one is just embarking on its 3rd summer. The neck liner has had to be replaced, and one of the chest buckles has just given up, but other than that it's been very tough and well worth the money.
