Both of these rugs seem to be highly recommended to stop fly worry. Quite a few use the sweetitch hoody even though their horse does not have sweetitch.

As I am a big Rambo/Rhino fan anyway I will be getting one of these but which one?

My boy has sensitive skin and easily gets rubbed. I have to be especially careful of his mane as he's a purebred arab.

What are your experiences of these rugs rubbing, do they rub at all and if so where?

Thanks

i have the sweetitch hoody. My mare has sensitive skin this is why i chose this over the protector. She wore it ever day last summer and it didnt rub her once on either the body or her mane.

I have the sweetitch hoody which I only really use to keep Gen clean etc when he is off to a comp the next day and bathed/plaited night before. I love it - it doesnt rub, fits well and keeps him clean.

Sweet Itch Hoody. My mare was very sensitive skinned, and it never rubbed her. The neck is satin lined and this continues accross the withers and round the shoulders. It fits really well around the chest and has the new leg arches and 3 surcingle styling of the new horseware rugs so easy to omve in it. My mare wore hers day and night, inside and out, I did wash it weekly as it got very disgusting (for a very pretty elegant mare she loves to sleep in her poo!) She had no mane or tail when I bought her in August 2005 and when I sold her in October 2006 she had a full mane and tail and I gave her new owners the rug and it is still going strong!

I used the protector on my chaps last year - big hairy horses. I didn't use the neck cover much as I didn't need it. Chancer gets mild SI and I found this with my fly spray did the trick.

No rubs or sores, Chancer wore his every day 24 x 7 from May to October and Cairo most of the time.

For my two, I am really pleased with the protector and would get another one if I needed to.

I had a sweetitch hoody which i only used about 3 times but the fit is fantastic and they are great quality I would imagine much harder to tear than the average fly rug- would reccommend
