I'm just perusing what winter rugs to buy but can't work out what the difference between these three horse ware brands are. Some seem to be the same weight and durability yet very different prices??

As far as I'm aware, Amigo is a cheaper (but very good) version of the Rambo. Not sure about the Rhino, maybe it's an in-between??

Rambo are the top range and are well worth buying if you have a big enough budget. The outer is high denier ballistic nylon which is the bees knees when it comes to material suitable for making turnout rugs.

Rhino are the middle range. They are good rugs, but not as long lasting as the Rambos.

With the Amigos, there is a top, middle and bottom range. The 1200d (top range) are very good rugs and they are quite tough. In some ways I prefer these to the Rhinos. The 600d are not as tough and are the middle range Amigo. The Mio range is the real budget model and only the top section of the rug is breathable.

I have a Rambo Wug Heavyweight for my boy and it's fabulous - the only one last year that didn't get ripped or even the smallest snag - not a mark on it.

Got it from a lady from work who had no use for it - it had only been tried on her horse and not been worn, she sold me it for £50 :D

Is this where the Hero, Bravo and Mio come in?? I've been really confused the last couple of years, I'm sure Amigos just used to be Amigos and then they brought out all these different names!

Faracat is right.
I've always thought that the rhino's were a little more generous on the shoulder's, although this may no longer be true with all the latest ranges.

Yes, they didn't used to have three ranges. :)

I think the Bravo is the 1200d, the Hero is 600d and the Mio is 600d but only partly breathable (the Bravo and Hero are fully breathable).

My old 6ft3 Rhino (navy with green and purple check) is bigger than my newer brown check one in the same size.
