I've seen this:

Its obviously a really good buy, the prices of new Rambo's at the moment are eye watering. I'm on the fence about getting one for Big Eared Alice! I keep going back to it expecting them to be sold out and that would make the decision easy!

My old draw back Is that I had the same rug for another horse, who got his withers rubbed, but he got rubbed withers with every non combo rug so I sold it on but I do remember it being shockingly heavy when wet. Anyone else? I' not sure if i just found it crazy heavy for him due to his withers or if (as Its pretty subsantially made) that it is indeed quite heavy?

That horse now has this as his 50g and its feather lite, Love it but Rambo is better than Amigo and 900d/1680d

I can’t remember which model but I got a 1680 denier Rambo turnout rug and I think because of the tough material (it wasn’t a warm/thick rug) it was crazy heavy to lift even dry/new, sadly.

I think a bit of weight is the pay off for decent rugs. I know a lot of people complain about PE rugs being heavy but I think the quality makes them worth that weight. Unless the horse has a specific issue, like yours with his withers, I think that weight is more or less spread across the body so it's probably not an issue for them just for us getting them on and off.

I tend not to change wet rugs unless they're soaked through and I really have to and I rarely ride in very wet conditions so don't notice the weight too much.

I have this for my big lad and it’s brilliant. I got it in the sale. However I wouldn’t get it for some of my others as they are rug wreckers

Anyone know what the fit is like on these? I bought an Amigo for my ginge but it’s pretty tight around the shoulders.. barely fits him and I sized up 😲

That’s a thought actually.
She has 6’6 Amigo’s I’ve not tried a Rambo turnout in her.
I did buy a 6’6 Rambo stable rig and It absolutely swamped her in every way.
Wonder if I’d need 6’3 or 6’6? I have a 6’6 duo- would that fit the same as the Supreme?!

I get the Amigos - until last year, they were excellent. The ones I bought last year were awful. All got quickly damaged, tail flaps torn off, hoods ripped, etc. Nothing in the field has changed and my 10-15yo rugs are now back in service being absolutely fine. I buy the 900D ones and yet, the seams are rubbish even though the rugs themselves don't seem to tear. "Hero" I think ... Disappointing.

Ah that’s a shame! I actually am quite pleased with the few I bought in the Hope Valley sales over summer.
Although I’ve not used them much yet so perhaps they just haven’t been put under pressure yet 😬

Wow - I bought two on eBay, with neck cover 100g for £85 and 50g for £50 😳 I had no idea they were this expensive! The best rugs I have ever had and am feeling a bit happy; both my rugs are virtually brand new.
I can beat that! One came up a few miles away on Facebook marketplace, no neck but 2x liners, for £10! I gave it a wash and proof although prob didn’t need which was another £15 or so. A few weeks later the seller messaged to say she had found the neck and I could have that for free!

No holes or worn bits and lasted all last winter in some severe storms without letting a drop in…

Ooooh dammit, I only have 0g and a 150g and was thinking I could do with a 50g or 100g as a middle point... I do prefer buying a good quality rug over cheaper ones you end up having to replace but also don't really have £195 spare right now

Hmmm....

I want to order the Rambo Duo Force bundle for Fluffles, but now am concerned it'll be huge on her, she has an Amigo with the triple front fastening that fits her really well but 'someone' 😒 redesigned the bum flap on it and it's currently held on with plaiting thread which my fingers didn't thank me for doing and was hoping the actual Rambo would be more immune to bitey teeth 🫣

ive just bought this one ;

definitely a generous fit. But will be able to layer up for the season.

Feels a really good quality rug and at a great price
