Are the Rambo Supreme rugs worth the extortionate price tag? I have sworn not to buy anything other than Fal and Horseware in future after trying out the cheaper end of the rug market without a whole lot of success... my horse has a really, really low-set neck so I like the idea of having the V-front closure on the rug as she can get her head down without strangling herself! Other lightweight Horseware rugs seem to either have straight front fastenings or the high "Wug" necks. So Horseware seem to have cleverly duped me into paying £150+ for a lightweight rug... does anyone have any comments on the Supreme rugs?

In life, you get what you pay for. I personally think the Horseware rugs are very good quality, they fit my horse better than any other make, and although they can be expensive, they seem to last for a very long time. I threw away a turnout this year, that I had used for 10 years. I am not a fan of FAL, simply because they don't fit my horse very well. I have a few other makes, but I keep coming back to Horseware.

I have one and its about 4/5 years old and its still as good as new. It fits my horse raelly nicely

I do have a Fal rug as well but its a bit tight around the shoulders

I am the same as you, tried other makes always disapointed!!
I have a supreme, older one though so has a zip on the neck, but has the v front. It is superb!!
My rhino wug lite has a v front and was under £100 its about 3 years old and has the front leg arch too!
I actually really like the wug neck, it doesn't seem to make him any hotter than a normal neck lightweight rug! Just can rub the mane a bit!

You lot should all work for Horseware, because you've just sold me the rug!!

Foxyfolly - I'm not quite as keen on the Rhinos as the Rambos, I didn't find my h/w Rhino fitted my horse as well as my friend's Rambo Duo (odd as I would have thought they'd be the same fit?) I'm also not keen on the Wug neck due to the rubbing aspect - and I suppose if I get the Supreme I have the option of hood/no hood for only a little bit more money. If I'm buying an expensive one I may as well go for the really expensive one...

I have a HW Supreme and it is the best rug I have.......................That said I wouldn't buy another one, I would just get a Rambo Duo as more versatile.

I love my horseware rugs and th supreme is really good, for what it's worth though I've resolved to only get wugs in future as, while they aren't quite as toasty as a full hood, the mane is not rubbed IME.

I would ever only buy Rambo rugs now, they're definitely worth the extra money. Although the Amigo's are pretty good too considering they're much cheaper. The fit is amazing on my boy. He's got the heavyweight supreme and it's the best rug ever, even seems to keep his legs dry due to the clever leg arches! Amazing rug!

My Rambo Supreme is just about to go into it's 6th winter!! Apart from having to sew the neck tags back on (the ones under the neck not the ones onto the rug) it's been brilliant. I have had it professionally washed and reproofed once or twice too and it comes up a treat. It's really light but so very, very warm. My lad can be a bit of wimp and he wear this one when fully clipped without any layers underneath even in the coldest weather.

I think it cost a bit over £200 when OH bought it for us as Christmas pressie, but have to say I more than had my monies worth. I wouldn't hesitate in buying another when this one gives up - although no sign of that yet!
