I've just bought one of these rugs and it fits really well apart from the ear-holes which seem to be a little on the snug side and the top strap of the neck cover which is too tight. (Pone is a big chunky Arab).

It is a lovely rug but the next size up will be far too big so I'm wondering whether I should return it and try another make, or, as it fits so well otherwise, just customise it by making the ear-holes a bit bigger and fiddle about with the neck strap.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with this type of rug?

Thank you for reading and hope someone can advise.

Love the rambo, have had two in 6 years and horse lives in it through the summer. Never had a problem with the fit myself. The top fastening is elasticated, couldn't you extend them?

Same problem with my horse's ears but the top strap on mine is too loose! I just fold the top of the neck behind his ears. It leaves his neck bare for a few inches but the neck cover stays up.

I've got the premier equine version, horse won't keep ears in and I can't do top two straps up but neck stays up anyway. Also had to get belly straps lengthened as he's a chunky monkey. Love the rug though xx

I use this rug, find its great but I don't use ears or top strap just fold it back like some other people do as the ear things always come out and she never has rubbed and had a problem. I would try without and see how u go

i used the rambo one for my haflinger and she wont keep it ober her ears. the only trouble i find is the neck is too long for her but otherwise fits well.
