Hi yes my sister has the rambo sweet itch rug on her horse he only gets mild sweet itch it is very hard wearing and seemed to control the sweet itch well
The only problem she found was that it seemed quite heavy and he did get hot and sweaty in it

Hey, I have had both!!
Unfortunatly my horse was discovered to have an immune system problem not sweet itch so i cannot comment on which works.
I can say that the Boett was by far the comfiest and covered more. The rambo sweet itch hoody was great in that it stays in place brilliantly and is fairly tough but my horse was very hot and sweaty in it on warm days so sorry but in my opinion its the boett- and a bigger dent on your wallet!!

I have two of these - and they are great. My current neddies don't have sweet itch - but these do provide much better protection for delicate TB's against the flies. I think if you ponio has sweet itch I would lean towards the boett.

THe rambo rugs are very hard wearing and always wash up really well.

Had both. Hated the Boett (horse sweated up, it ripped if you looked at it, fiddly to put on, the belly band thing wrinkled up etc). Love the Hoody - now on my second. The first lasted nearly 3 summers. Great coverage, dries quickly, pretty tough, easy to put on/take off.

I have a pony with severe sweet itch, rubs mane and tail raw, until that is I bought a Boett and last summer we survived and even temperament was better (always difficult to catch), pony was happier and kept a mane and tail, we kept it on in the hottest weather and never sweated up or was uncomfortable it was worth the time it took to put on! Would highly recommend pony is a pure bred connemara

Well mine turned out not to have SI in the end, but he still trashed this rug! All the neck velcro straps broke off several times...

I got a Boett for him then and it seemed to have lasted longer. Depends how bad it is, if it was mild TBH Id just go for a cheap fly sheet.

My girls both have sweet itch hoodies because of the flies, one is on it's 3rd season and the other was on a yearling last year and survived so they are quite tough, can't comment on preventing sweetitch though, sorry
