The fact that Rambo turnout rugs rock, and that they stay waterproof long after lesser makes give up and leak, is not new news but here’s another shout out for them 👍.

In the recent relentless rain my 3 have lived out as usual, bar coming in twice a day for their feed and in the mornings only, a net of hay. All this time they have been wearing their venerable Rambo turnouts and hoods (two Duos and one Original) which are about 8 years old apiece. The rugs get washed and reproofed annually at a local and excellent rug wash.

All three neds are still dry as a bone underneath.

The IDx had snooked a roll in before I whipped her rug off 🤣

Outside their stables it was like this… (pre yard sweeping).

I can’t afford Rambos either but my two have had their Rhino no fills on the last two nights in some torrential rain and they have come in in the morning as dry as can be. The rugs are 7 years old and either get a sponge down outside and a wash with warm soapy water to remove any grease inside or are chucked in the washing machine and reproofed with fabsil gold. Love the liner system, it’s so versatile.

Same here!
They are expensive but I bought a duo in a sale when I first got Ziggy, I’ve since found a heavy weight combo for £50 on Market place and that’s been great.
I have a few older ones too including a tech duo. Love them.
I do also have a few Rhino’s though and really rate them too.
I’m so annoyed at myself for selling several really decent Rambo’s a few years ago when I had a tiny horse they didn’t fit, lost him and they would have been perfect now 🤦‍♀️

this makes me even more excited to have my box rest ponies out in the field!🤣

i can’t afford rambos new, but i managed to get a 100g duo for £70 and, my best bargain EVER, a 250g supreme vari-layer for £40 - in perfect condition and professionally washed.

so far, the only thing i’ve noticed is that the 6” 100g feels lighter to take on and off than my weatherbeeta 5”6 0g!! i love the weatherbeeta rug but my lord why is it so heavy😂😂

I tried a Rambo on mine and he looked like a sausage in a sausage roll. It was also fairly tight on his huge shoulders. I've used various Weatherbeetas ever since as long as they have a shoulder gusset and works like a charm. He has one going on the third winter but it is 1680D....anything less and he rips them before they die any other type of death

I will say a weatherbeeta keeps my girl warm and dry all winter and they are super easy to clean with a stiff brush. She doesn’t tend to rip hers though even though she is out with two others

I bought all my rambo about 20 years ago when a site called horserugs4u opened. They didn't seem to know the value of anything and it was all excessively cheap. They were still going strong last winter and have just been ebayed because the last horse they fit has passed.

I would rather buy used rambo than a new mid range brand but my remaining horses are mega chunky and need specialist rugs.

I've got a rambo and rhino and they're amazing. Before I bought them I was getting so fed up with leaking rugs. These have been through storms and days of torrential rain without leaking and they're both no fills used with or without liners.

My Rhino 250 Vari-layer turnout has coped with its fifth winter. Recently needed a patch but that's all. Fits like a glove. Fastenings are all quicker than the other brands.

My 27 y o wb might, in the depths of the Adelaide Hills winter [and it gets arctic here], might get a 100 g liner underneath.

For another horse I've had the Amigo 0gm rainsheet, another excellent rug, though it faded a bit, keeps them completely dry.

I love the rambos. Bought the new horse a rhino and so far it’s been great too. I will see how she gets on with her rhino but she may get upgraded to a Rambo if she looks after it. They are very pricy but worth it I think. Annoyingly big horse is a common size so won’t likely find one on a really good offer like I did the one for my haffie.

Rugs just don’t fit my haffie. My old one was the same, really tricky to find rugs that fit nicely but her Rambo is definitely the best I’ve found so far. Much better fit than the amigos.

I love Horseware rugs. My old boy is still wearing the Rambo's I bought for him 15 years ago. They are professionally washed and reproofed annually and are still perfect if a bit faded. My younger horse has Rhino rugs with liners which I love. They also have the odd amigo which have also proved to be good rugs.

I've just won a Rambo Duo plus liners in Redpost's facebook Christmas draw and am desperately hoping it will fit my substantial Welsh Cob cross. It's more than I'd ever spend on a rug but I've always heard good things bout them so he's better fit in it somehow!

It fits! This is the basic 100g rug, it looks to have room to fit the liners under, I haven't tried the neck yet but it looked roomy enough and if it isn't I'll just get longer straps put on.

Ok, can't attach picture as it says the file is too large.

I’ve got Rambos and Amigos. OH says Rambos are over engineered re. Chest fastenings etc. but I think they are great. I love horse wear rugs

Not deep enough for my warmblood - his belly is exposed below the line of the rug & looks like a mini skirt! 😄 Also too tight on the shoulders for either of mine. Inner lining has disintegrated on the vari layer ones. Not my favourite rugs for the price! Weatherbeeta girl here.
