Does anyone know where you can buy a ramp to get an old lab into a range rover ?
I am struggling to lift him but he loves the car.
I think I might be able to get a friend to make one
Has anyone experiance of a dog using a ramp?
ps he not overwieght he's very slim in fact but I broke my back and he's just too heavy for me.

I use a ramp for an old Lab. I bought it on the internet, but have covered it in old carpet, so the dog doesn't slip and can get a good grip. If you get one, try training the dog to use it by leaning it up against a sofa to begin with . That way it isn't too steep and you can support the back end of the dog more easily. Entice him on with a treat or toy and make it fun. Perhaps use a command like 'climb'. I'm sure he'll soon get the hang of it.
My ramp folds in 2 and has carrying handles.
Good luck!

He's not a silly dog and quite calm so I think he will get it .
He fell down the stairs to the feed room on Monday he had gone up to look for me and tried to rush down when he saw me I saw what was going to happen and could not get there in time .
He was upset and embrasssed ( I know he's a dog and can't do human stuff but it was how he looked).
It's very sad.

We use one with our Newfy always have done. Its fine although she sometimes needs encouraging up. But she is a bit odd at times anyway!
Ours is plastic as the wood ones weren't strong enough can't remember name but was off internet. It slides open rather than folding.
Good luck sure he will get idea quickly- put bits of food on it if he is a typical lab he will sniff the food and walk up without realising!
