Random nosebleed?

Had my old boy (23) tied up on the yard tonight and his nose started bleeding, just a trickle from each nostril and it only lasted 5 or so minutes. He has had one before in just one nostril, I had put it down to him snuffling about in his bed and straw going up there. But standing on the yard doing nothing?! He is fine in himself so I am sure it is nothing but wanted some advice/reasurrance.

What was it like? Fresh blood, especially from one nostril only indicates its relatively low down that the blood is coming from, & is usually not anything to worry about. Old blood usually indicates its coming from further back, especially from both nostrils.

It looked like fresh blood to me, he is chestnut so it looks darker on his nose but fresh id have said. It was both nostrils today.
