Someone's put random ponds everywhere!
There is a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge one in our field. It wasn't there a few days ago, and now it's taking up a big part of the side by the road! We don't go there that much, so it doesn't really matter, but still! What's it doing there?
They're in the woods, too. We've been out there 4 times since the snow started to leave. I wasn't so happy about that, even though we were only going to the square place with the roof on. A few days ago wasn't so bad: the Carrot Lady steered me to the path that is really really deep over my feet, so I had to pick them up high and it was tiring, but at least it wasn't all slidy. And in the square place, I got to canter really fast lots, so that was good.
On the way home, she said that she's let me pick the way home, since it was my feet on the ground, not hers, but then she wasn't happy with where I went, and said I was trying to run her into low branches!
But yesterday was awful. She tried to make me go the normal way, and she even got off to lead me, but it was a stupid way and very slidy, so I tried to tell her no. And I got my butt smacked!!
But we got there in the end, and we went home along the road where the fast things go. That was fine, because the fast things don't really worry me, and the road was nice and not slidy.
Today was the strangest. We went out the normal way, and that was actually ok! In the square place, I had to trot over some poles that the Scary Chicken Flap Man kept dropping randomly everywhere---they weren't in a line, like they usually are! I think maybe he got inspired by the random ponds in the woods?
And then I hung around eating, first in the Wide-Face Pony's stall, and then in the tall mare that tried to bite me's stall, which was nice, because it was really raining very hard, and it was dry in there.
After that was a bit weird: I had to go in the square place again and go around in circles and shapes beside another pony that I don't know very well (he seems very nice, though). Not behind, but beside him! I've had to do that a few times before, and it's actually sort of fun to do circles together with someone else, but I wasn't really that into it today; I was tired.
Then we went home. I went with another horse that we sometimes meet in the woods or at the square place; I think he lives fairly near my field. We went along the deep wady path that I mentioned before, and boy, there was the biggest pond you've ever seen, plopped right down in the middle of it!
It wasn't there when we went along there a few days before! It was a really really big pond, and there was absolutely no way around it!
So I followed the other horse, and walked through, but it was really hard, because there was deep stuff at the bottom, and the water came all the way up all four of my legs, right to my tummy!
But when we got through there, the other horse showed me a new way to get out of the woods: you have to climb over some rocks and stuff, and then you end up on the road a little way down from my field. He crossed the road and went somewhere on the other side, but we went back to my field. And I got a carrot, a nice crunchy sweet one.
