it's not often i angry about stuff and the things people do but i could quite honestly slap someone right now i am so peeved off!!!
A friend is looking for a pony for her daughter(my daughter BFF ;) ), i say i know of one who needs a bit of work as is green but is an honest soul so could a possibility,i make arrangements and we go see pony, they like and say yes they would like him but are going away on hols in a few days so can they sort the details when they get back, seller is another friend of mine and agrees, saying she is sending pony off to another friend (hers not mine) to get him back into work so that will work out fine.
pony goes off to the friend and my friend goes up to see him again, now she knows this woman as her daughter rode one of her ponies for a while, woman insists straight away that the pony won't be suitable but she has one they can loan, he's already got a loaner but they can share (double the money for one pony!) No , my friend has had enough of loaning and really wants to buy their own now.
my friend txts the woman twice to say they are still interested and will make arrangements when they get back off hols, meanwhile i confirm this with my friend, the owner of said pony who says yep as far as she is concerned, all is good. then my mate gets a txt from the woman to say pony is hers:confused: bit of confusion and txts from my friend to the woman asking for clarification are ignored, i get hold of my friend (by txt after her ignoring my calls:rolleyes: ) ) and she says as far as she is concerned the deal is still on, but no mention of who now owns pony:confused: eventually my friend manages to get hold of the woman who says pony is now hers as my friend and her did a deal over some tack she'd had
I am livid at how the bloomin woman has done this 'deal' for this pony knowing full well that my friend and her daughter want him, she has no intention of selling him as she never sells anything, just loans them from her place. I've always had my reservations about this woman and now it looks like i was right, i honestly can't believe someone could be so underhand and selfish when a child is involved:mad: my friend isn't blame free either but she is rather in awe of this woman and does take everything she says as gospel, she's also a bit soft and i think just gives in to pressure for an easy life sometimes:rolleyes:
ohhh that feels better, sticky flapjacks for anyone who got this far lol, thanks for listening:D

It all sounds very unfair and underhand but sometimes these things happen for a reason and it may be for the best (for the child) in the long run, it oculd be that the next one they go to see is their perfect pony. It really isn't worth getting yourself upset over, just see it as an eyeopener and avoid all 'business' dealings with people you cannot trust.

Poor kid! Bet she was excited on her holiday, thinking she would get her own pony, and now it's all gone tits up!
By the sound of things, I would avoid 'loaning' woman as she doesn't sound very honest or mindful of child's feelings. I would look elsewhere. Sod the pair of em!
Hope girl finds her dream pony soon. xx

I'm trying to think along the 'fate works in mysterious ways and something better will come along' kind of lines but it's not easy;) I know only too well the horse world is full of devious chancers but still doesn't excuse an adults behaviour:(

I'm confused, the sellers friend now says pony is hers because the buyer made a deal with her for some tack? How does that work? The way I see it the pony still belongs to the seller and the buyer should still be able to buy?

I can see why your annoyed, its a horrid thing to do to an adult but even worse for a child. Fingers crossed the right one pops up soon.

I'm not suprised you and your friend are angry! What a mean thing for your friend to do. I don't know where you are, but my YO has a lovely little Pony up for sale. Slightly green, but honest and very safe.

sellers friend had pony as payment for some tack the seller had from her;)

i do feel much calmer now I've had my little rant:) i can recommend flapjacks and choccy biccies as a great blood pressure reducer:D
