I have never had such a bad journey!
Was going to pick a friend horse up this morning who's come to stay for 10 days while they are a way and I'm horseless. The other drivers on the rad this morning beggered belief!
1. I was in a queue waiting to go over some traffic lights at a cross road. My way stays green for 30 secs longer than opposite direction to allow people to turn right. The car in front of me accelerated off harder than me, so there was a small gap between us. A DFS lorry had been hovering waiting to turn across us (even though his light was now RED), saw the gap and drove though. I had to slam my brakes on!! NOT happy. I only just stopped in time. It was clear that I was coming through even if he thought my lights had gone red, which they hadn't it was green. Took his reg number. DFS will be receiving a call this afternoon!!
2. Was driving through a 30 and there was a stretch of about 10 parked cars on the other side of the road. The road was clear in front of me and it was clear I was coming through, but no someone decided to fly through, again causing me to slam my brakes on so that we didn't have a head on. They calmly thanked me for stopping and I flashed my lights and looked cross! They should have waited, it was my right of way!
3 THEN, same stretch of parked cars I'd gone past about the 5th car and another car decided to come through staight at me!!!!!!! I had nowhere to go. Had cars behind me. There certainly was no room to pass and she just sat there! I don't know what she thought I was going to do?! Disapperate?!! She then had 2 cars come up behind her and then they all had to reverse back. Was total carnage!!!! By the time I got through there was about 10 cars behind her in a queue probably wondering what on earth was going on.
Honestly are people just stupid? I'm used to people doing the usual "quick, it's a trailer, get in front of it" and cutting me up. But today was ridiculous! I actually didn't have a horse on board as we were on route to collect and it's just as well. But they weren't to know that!
To top it off it was pouring with rain! You'd think people would drive slower and be more careful. But no!
Rant over!
