Rant: Life would be a whole lot better if...

Have you been reading my mind Shils? (What a silly question, of course you have . . . ).

Why do people feel it's acceptable to stick their oar in pass judgment on other people's riding, horse care/management, knowledge, etc.?

Just today, I saw/heard some real rudeness. Livery A was looking for someone to school/hack out her horse so offered Livery B (who is a nice little rider) the opportunity to sit on him. Said horse is a shire cross who has alot of fun buttons to push - in his day he was an amazing dressage horse . . . piaffe, spanish walk, half pass - you name it. He's a big, strong, opinionated lad. Livery B got on great with him in the school so decided to take him out on the gallops. Horse got a little over-excited, met some other liveries coming back from a hack, including Livery C, and had a little mini bolt. All made it safely back to the yard . . . but I happened to overhear Livery C pretty much slagging off Livery B for not being able to control the horse . . . in her words the poor girl who got carted was "a wally." I hear people giving opinions on how well-rugged (or not) other people's horses are, on their choice of farrier/vet/dentist, on their choice of bedding (for goodness' sake). Just the other day, I had a fellow livery tell me that my vet was "rubbish" because he advocated keeping Kali in his box for his suspected laminitis - according to her laminitics should be out.

Having read certain threads on here, I sure as heck will not be discussing any major decisions I make about Kal with anyone but my closest, most trusted horsey friends.

What is wrong with some people?

P

They think they know everything:mad:

My mare has got DJD in her hocks so is lame/very, very stiff for the first 20minutes of warm up then she is fine but I keep getting the "You shouldn't be riding her, you need the vet out etc...." from know it alls....THE VET HAS BEEN OUT, SHE HAS BEEN INJECTED AND THE VET KNOWS SO *INSERT BAD WORD* OOF:mad::mad::mad:

I'm of the opinon that if the horse is fine, happy and healthy, it doesnt matter how its looked after, what works for one wont work another.

But if I see an injured/lame horse in the feild I will ask the owner if they know and if they do then fine at least I've done my bit.

I just want to know why everyone is needing to have a rant these days?? Or for that matter, too many interferons rubbing up people the wrong way. Maybe not enough bashing of clerics going on at home....

Is that what they call it?

I just take pills :)

The Lami threads do my nut in but life is to short to rant.. Just gets me in more trouble ;D
