Due to the snow thawing over the past few day all the beds have flooded at my yard. The roof is flat and full of holes and water goes right through it. They are all on straw and because the drive is so icy we haven't had many deliveries of late and are running low. Because of this the YO hasn't been mucking them out properly, just taking out the messes and leaving the wet in, and so all the beds are filthy and wet. The only thing there is to put into them is a soggy straw and hay mixture thing which none of us will touch as they are already eating their beds. I realise that it is difficult for the YO and if there is no straw then there is no straw, but yesterday she presented us with an invoice saying that she was charging £40 extra per equine (so £80 for me as I have 2) to cover the costs of straw and hay this month! I'm a bit annoyed at this as straw has been nonexistant or bad quality when it gets here and haylage is half mould. What would you do?
