why are people so rude and snobby!
I feel so humiliated, I've been ringing about looking for a horse to share to decide if I want to have the commitment to buy my own within the future.
Found a lovely advert today apperently set in the same town, looked it up on the internet too apperently a ~*perfect*~ horse suitable for mother/daughter share calm perfect to handle, 100% in all ways.
Built my courage to ring, when I spoke the women didn't even bother replying and so I asked what she wanted she said just excercise so I'm like okay and then she asked if I had shared or owned a horse before which I replied No & said she isn't the horse for you then and hung up!

Obviously not the same horse she was describing in the advert then, I'ved worked at yards and looked after my cousins horses not that she gave me a chance to say that!
I'm not suprised people are having hard times finding sharers if they're so quick to dimiss someone and have a cold attitude.

ontop of that where I used to go for riding lessons, they never answer/return my calls anymore ( so rude imo!) & I can find nowhere else which is as good q__q

lol probably overeacting SORRY, just need to rant lol.
They may have had previously been let down or somthing by other people.
I just feel so dimissed lately the horse community where I live just ugh I feel I'm not good/rich enough to be around horses, so much snobbery.

Sorry you had that experience, if she's such a cow as to hang up on you, probably a good job that you didn't end up sharing her horse! Good luck with finding another potential share, just don't let this put you off. Hugs x

Don't let it get you down, there ARE nice horsie people out there.

We got the same response when we phoned up when we saw the loan advert for Squizz - my sister was only 12 then and the immediate response to her age (bearing in mind Squizz had been in a field for 2 years having previously novice evented) but Holly did give us a chance to explain Jenny was an extremely capable 12 year old, as shed been riding Blackjack (my 15.2hh TBx, and had been moved up from Junior PC camp as she'd outgrown it) for 3 years.

Holly (the owner) was really nice and when she saw Jenny on Squizz she said "actually I'd like you to buy him - £1000, £500 or even £200". We settled for £500 as £200 wasn't even meat money!

We've had Squizz for 9 years now and he's still going strong!

So, the point being - the owners loss if she's too ignorant to even find out your experience. Keep on looking - the right horse and situation is put there somewhere!!!

Don't let some silly old boot like her put you off! She sounds ridiculous, putting an ad out and then responding to enquiries in such an ignorant manner. She won't get anyone to share with her if she carries on like that.....no thats her loss, not yours. Something better will turn up so don't give up.....

Thanks guys! Your right though their loss, wouldn't want to end up in a situation where I was uncomfortable with the people anyway.

Don't lose heart, I'm sure there is the perfect horse out there for you. We found we weren't 'good enough' to buy one lady's horse ROFL. We had already worked out that the horse was too much for us!!! We didn't need to be made to feel so small.

Everyone has to start somewhere - we finally found our girl

What type/size are you after and what area?

where abouts in kent are you? i am not sure if my friend is going to be looking for another share but i can ask if you like?

Yeah its a really horrible feeling too ):
I'd prefer 14.2 15hh anything around that, I don't really want anything too big though ofc it depends on the horse.
110% to hack, reponsive/foward going nothing crazy though. Horse that doesn't mind a fuss really, no meanies !
I'm not really intrested in competing or anything, basically I just want a safe fun hack.
& i'm in the tenterden/ashford area.

I think there are quite a few people who have horses who are thinking about getting a sharer but haven't done anything about it. (I can think of 3 people that I know of, though we're not near you) Why don't you put adverts up about what your looking for in the local tack shops and you might get some people ring you.
