This is gonna be a long one so here goes!

I brought an ex p2p last week and have it up a friends yard. Today i hear throught the grape vine that she has been slagging me off re the way i keep my horse by saying i dont muck out, i dont give it enough haylage, i dont feed it and i am scared of riding the horse. She has said this to other people without coming to talk to me 1st. It leaves me feel angry and backstabbed.

I wouldnt mind if this were true but i have always taken excellent care of my horses! so for the record.

I DO muck my horse! ok he is deep littered but i do a full muck out once a week and give a good skip out everyday as i work full time

As far a haylage goes, if filling up a net so much that you cant pull the string tight and have to drag it across the floor to hang it up counts as not enough, then that i am guilty of!

I have not started feeding him yet as he is highly strung, only hacking out max 30min a day to get his fitness up and is doing very well on haylage.I know he should be i more work but like i said i work full time at at this point he has no shoes

And as for scared of him, I know where this has stemed from. My friend rode said horse for me one night last week as i have been down with a stomach bug. She galloped him over the mountain (which i am not too happy with as he has been out of work for 9 months, but hey she was doing me a favor so i wont complain) and when i took him out last night, he remebered every place he went and proceeded to try and take off as soon as we hit these points. On the way home i couldnt find my way off the mountain so walked him down a very stony track which he got foot sore on so i got off and walked him back. This apparently means that i am scared of him!

ok im not 100% confident on him but who would be after only having him for a week

Sorry this has dragged on but i have had such a bad time with owners recently and now i have finally got my own, im being back stabbed by my friend instead..... ;-(

so sorry friend if you are reading this, but you have really upset me and i feel there was no need for theses comments what so ever. Next time please talk to me first instead of dragging my name through mud

Not suprised you are feeling stabbed. I would go and talk it through with your friend, might help top clear the air. If you dont it will probably simmer away in the back of your mind.

Thats an all too familiar story, I'm sure everyone who has had a horse at livery has been through this several times!!!! Its are Mayflower says, jealousy and it seems some people can not be friends with more than one person at a time. Rise above it and by the sounds of things you are caring for your horse really well.

Those grape vines can cause trouble, even if it was from a good source.

Give yourself time to calm down and talk it through with your friend, she obviously has things to say about how you manage your horse, perhaps with good reason or may she's just interfering too much or just an attention seeking mouting out of a mole hill type of liar...you both have things to say and yes of course you are upset but you need to nip it in the bud and get the air cleared, without a slanging match though.

You both may agree to disagree in the end but she'll think twice about what she says next time.

Good luck

Are you sure that the person who has told you all this is not just mischief making? Talk to your friend and explain your concerns. You are certainly doing the right think by not giving the horse a lot of short feed to start with as it is best with this type of horse to build up gradually.
I hope things improve for you.

I agree with divasmum. How did you come to hear all these things that your friend is apparently saying about you? is there a third party involved who would perhaps LOVE to be the one getting rides on your horse, and who likes creating drama and bad feeling?

No this has come from a very close friend who has only told me this as she thought it was unjust what my other friend has been saying.

TBH it wouldnt surprise me if the one that has been saying all this is after my horse. Shes been known to screw me over, especially when i school and excercise her horses and then they are taken off me when i get better results than her

Sounds like the big green eyed monster! How i hated being on a livery yard, now we rent a yard to ourselves and its great, we say who comes or goes and theres no back stabbing.

A girl at my daughters college told my daughters cousin who rides at the same yard she had been riding her yearling, my daughter showed the girl a picture of the horse wearing a very light synthetic saddle and the girl told everyone my daughter had been riding her yearling!! He is two now and will be at least 4 when she does get on him but some people just ike to stir the muck!!

Well mrogers, where to start??? Scared, yes I can imagine that, I have watched you ride at a competition. Haynets being full I doubt that, Friends, I'm surprised you have any left! Please other readers do not be confused here, this person is probably one of the most vicious I have ever come across! As for schooling other people's horses , I'm sorry that you are led into thinking that this is a Hoys standard rider, please be assured you'd be pushing it to even consider beach donkeys!!
Please mrogers don't forget other people read this site and prefer the old adage " Be honest"!!!

I'm sure you need to take a long hard look mrogers and ask yourself "who says the results were better and if I'm that good how come someone hasn't offered me a new ride on a hoys contender??"

Kidsmum and muchmorebetter you obviously are at the same yard as the OP ... why don't you both have a word with her in "real life" and not on a forum

Vice versa Op .

Sorry to dissolution you but not on same yard but know of and all about her vicious antics. Have seen her and her ponies in action and heard her at shows. Believe me you'd have a different outlook on this if she'd posted the truth or even half of it

REmember she can say what she likes on here and you will only see what she wants you to see, I've seen a lot more than you have, she wanted things in the open, that's why she posted, now she has her wish. Don't be surprised if a lot more doesn't show up. My advice, stay out of a catfight when there's a nasty vicious cat around and I don't mean me

As can you.

As this is a personal matter I fail to see why you can't sort this out between yourselves. Failing that have a catfight if you must, just keep your personal issues off the board.

You are right but unfortunately she posted all this without telling the truth. Sometimes truth hurts, her so called friends that passed malicious gossip aren't friends. She sets herself up as above everyone else and why post on here to justify herself?. Ha Ha what a laugh, believe me this is the first time I have posted on this site but truth will out, and watch the rising Hoys star fall from her perch, as she will as soon as other people see it, she'll be in for a rough ride!! I am sorry for you all to have to witness this but believe me she would go for the throat of anyone saying she'd backstabbed and she does, constantly, watch and wait............................................

I'm afraid she didn't keep the personal issues off this board, hence catfight!

I don't usually get into arguments on here, and actually, I am not now. I will say my bit and no more.

Kidsmum said " I'm sorry that you are led into thinking that this is a Hoys standard rider, please be assured you'd be pushing it to even consider beach donkeys!!"

Sorry, whoever you are, and the chances are that we DO know each other, but that is highly unfair, and untrue. She is perfectly capable of riding far more than a beach donkey, I can't imagine that has changed so dramatically in the two years since I have seen her.

As for the 'full haynet' I can only speak from past experience, I have known mrogers since she was 11 years old (and she's quite a bit more than that now) and NOT ONCE have I seen any of her horses looking poor, or in anyway neglected, and usually a darn sight better turned out than many others to boot.

Enfys, you may know her but so do I and you have obviously yet to be turned on. It will happen, so when it does, I may well defend you too
