Raging.. Why can't people keep their hands on their property! I don't mind you petting my horse or giving her a treat (she spits them out by the way, so thanks for letting my stable stink of cheap, moldy, soggy carrot treats). But when you leave her door open so she could escape! That's just beyond me. There was no way she could have done that by herself as my mum and I struggle to undo that bolt sometimes, the kick was also on the door. Thank god she had a bucket of feed at the end of the door so she didn't go far.

Sorry I had to get that out seriously considering CCTV! We where aware of people going in there and going through my things, we soon sorted that and got a locker for my junk. But we couldn't stop people going in there when we're away.

Errrr where is the yard owner on all this?? This type of thing would never go on on my yard. Some may say I'm too strict, but in my experience, if you don't have somebody strong and assertive in charge of a yard, I.e. Usually a load of women! These are the type of incidents that become a common occurrence. Absolutely shocking!

YO has no stand as she isn't a horsey person as we are on a farm. The people I think done it are on a different block so they have a different so to speak 'lead mare', the people are the sort of only turn up after boasting to my friend that I have a pony type *sigh*.

I have also been looking at stables to let, to move Moo Monster there after the peoples move house. But no luck! Would anyone like to share a yard in Scotland with a happy hacker/dressage when she is bothered cob? :p

At an old yard we were on (farm) OH's horse was becoming a little aggressive in his stable...

Soon found out why, another livery was allowing her kids to tease him with sweets and sugar cubes.

I went nuclear because she didn't give a hoot...

Let's just say it never happened again.... (angelic expression)

Same horse, same people...let their dog run all over the place. Warned them several times it would get kicked when horse was tied outside during mucking out....and yes. Dog flew through the air like a bird...

They started to mumble about 'compensation for injuries and vet bill', I said 'BRING IT ON!'...

Nothing happened and we left soon after for my sanity, I would have injured them all if I had been there much longer....

These two things were two in a long line of absolute muppet behaviour. Leaving horses with no water was one...

Here here, I agree totally....to be honest, this is why I hold back from buying horse, I really don't want to have to deal with these scenarios and always be worried. It never fails to amaze me how people let their kids give horses that they don't know treats, what if the said horse cannot have such treats for health reasons etc. Total disrespect !!!

A physically impaired lady plus several kids under 8 were wandering round the private bit of the yard yesterday. Having said hello to one well behaved horse. Off they headed towards a known kicker tied up for hosing, two who might give love nibbles, a grumpy stallion and mine. I very gently told them about the one who might kick and they reversed rather quickly! I dislike this aspect of any yard, the whole 'it's a petting zoo, free access, let's give the lovely horsies kilo after kilo of carrots'. Grr!

YO has no opinion on people messing with others animals?

Odd.

My experience of horses kept on farms is the farm is happy to take the money but doesn't want anything to do with actually running the yard. "sort it out amongst yourselves". Not helpful.
