Just a quick update from my post the other day about Bonnie my Springer Spaniel having lost her spring.

Yesterday, when our lovely vet was utterly baffled, we transfered her from our vets, 50 miles away to Dick White Referrals nr Newmarket.

I had to post on here because I know they are busy and she is in the best place. I have just spoken to them (they are utterly fantastic and so friendly and caring). Her bloods are still not showing anything particularly, her temperature is high (over 40), after their initial tests she has mentioned Bonnie is showing signs of "Rapid onset Lower Motor Neuron...disease?" Sorry Motor Neuron was all I heard. I tried to give the impression I was calm and understanding and didn't ask all the questions I needed too, my brain went blank. She is about to have another Xray and Ultrasound and following on from that they will be doing an Electrical Activity Assesment, that she will need a general for.

I am blowing my brains looking on the internet can anyone help me please?

What affect does LMN have on dogs? Is it curable?

What I have managed to find out though I think is that the Berberis in our garden (we didn't plant it and only moved in last summer) could be what caused it. The poison in this horrible stuff is a type of arsenic apparently? This weekend I am personally going to burn down every single one of these blasted bushes in our garden (there are about 15) and I don't care if the bloody blackbirds do like it.

Any advice or experiences (however frank) would be appreciated.

TT

hope she is ok.
sorry can't help anymore- in humans mnd isn't curable just managed but maybe due to poisoning effect they can treat that and stop it?
hope you get answers you want soon.
