Does anyone use it?

We have just moved one of ours over to it for a trial period and I'm not sure its working as well as it could. It just seems almost too absorbant and I find most of the bed seems to be wet. Think we may have issue with damp coming in from somewhere but the bedding seems to be wet through. How do you find it and how many bags do you use a week/month?

ive used it in the past nd always found it really good, a lady i muck out for has it down and uses it as deep litter and its dead easy to manage and keep clean, it also rearely smells and keeps quite dry for a deep litter i think i probably only use a bale a week and it keeps well, the mare gets quite smelly feet on most thing but her feet keep well on this (i know she probably shouldnt be on deep litter with feet isssues but not my horse)
 
I have been looking after a freinds horse for the last few weeks and she had put in a full bed of Rapport a few days before whe went away.

I hated it! Found that it moved a lot and made a mess (this horse normally leave all droppings in one large pile completely undisturbed). Also found it got very wet and over the first ten days I got through 5 bales!

My friend was then home for a few days before going away again. Obviously she was staggered at the amount I had got through so asked me to leave all wet in and not remove as and when it reached the surface of the bed. I did this and a week later she came back to one disgusting brown bed - so that method did not work either!

It is a shame as when it originally went down we really liked the look of it but just cannot get it to work well. All now removed and she has reverted to Aubiose.
 
My feed store was selling this a while back as they couldn't get Aubiose, and my first impression was quite good, I especially liked the citronella smell and the way it puffed up. However, the novelty soon wore off, as it went mushy and wet very quickly, unlike Aubiose which traps all the wet at the base of the bed. I was glad the Aubiose shortage wasn't a long term situation and went back to that as soon as I could get it again.
 
Many thanks for you views and replies. Brown and wet seems to be the case with mine too. I'm going to give it a bit longer and see if it improves with time but I'll not hold my breath.

the idea is sound in so much as pieces of bedding rather than flakes if you know what i mean....means absorbency is better but personally find wood fibre beddings work better as the wet clumps in one place rather than spreading about and looking filthy. Things like easibed, comfybed are the way forward for me. And comfybed wins on account of it being a whole load cheaper!!
 
I had been using Aubiose for 2 years and it was fantastic .. up until 2 months ago when my supplier and run out of it ....

They had Equisorb in stock which i bought to tide me over ... well ive never went back to Aubiose as the Equisorb is so much better ! and £2.00 odds a bale cheaper ,
