Well I had a lovely weekend as I went to meet a Whippet breeder. I'm not getting a dog till next year but there are very few breeders here compared to the UK and I want to find a good one. They were a lovely couple who were obviously completely obsessed with their dogs - and they've invited us to watch them coursing in a few weeks which I really hope we can make and I'll get lots of pics! :)

Anyway, they also breed a rare breed called the Chart Polski (Polish Greyhound) which was apparently nearly wiped out when the Germans invaded Poland, only 20 dogs in the Netherlands and apparently only one in the UK!! But wondered if anyone knew anything about them. Absolutely beautiful dogs but HUGE!! You can see pictures of their dogs on their website below.

If you look at the google images there is a huge range in their appearance which is a problem they have at the moment due to the limited gene pool. Bit of a random post but I found them quite fascinating so thought I'd share.

Hehe, you do not surprise me CC :) I do like the dutch herders (had a couple on the yard when I had my horse and lovely dogs), but I've had my heart set on a whippet for years. Should really have got one when I was in the UK.

Misterjay, am I being dense here or is that a joke? I may well be being dense :)
