Rare or Unusual breeds anyone

Just wondering - what rare or unusual breeds people would have in an ideal world ? - or even luckier, what unusual breeds do you guys out there own.

In ideal world I would love a Friesian, Akhal Teke or Criollo - the Friesian for there looks and temperament, Akhal teke 'cos there beuuuuitful , Criollos for there temperament and bizarre colours.

Currently I own a Reg ID (think the registered ones are still on the rare breed list, but not exactly exotic) and a heinz variety ayrab type pone.

I suppose it depends whereabouts you are.

In the UK I don't think that Quarter Horses or APHAs are all that commonplace, so they'd be classed as slightly unusual presumably, whereas here, like cobs in Wales, they are everywhere.
I am in the process of trying out Pasos (Finos not Peruvians, there's a difference) which are pretty easy to find here, I'd have to search and travel in the UK to find one of them.

Now, here in Canada, if I had a New Forest, Fell, Dales or Highland in particular in this area then they would be considered very rare and unusual.

American Saddlebreds seem to be rarer than Quarter Horses over here. Used to have an AS and he was amazing - jumped like a stag, moved like a warmblood and had the temperament of a persian cat! haa haa x

Yes - same here, they may not be exotic but definately extremely rare

I have an Icelandic (not too many in the UK) and a Vladimir (very rare in UK). I also have a Clydesdale x, and a gypsy cob.

I have a very rare breed of horse.
A perfectly SAIN! and safe TB racehorse. who only finished racing last year in May as a 14 year old.

I love, and would love to have, a pure Irish Draught. In an ideal world I'd have enough land plus facilities to breed them as I think they're wonderful.

After that I'd say I also like the Friesan, and I'd better mention the Cleveland Bay otherwise SSM will hang me

Mine would be a 16.2 Friesan (love black horses..) or the one in the Lloyds/TSB advert - what breed is that??

After watching Stripes - then maybe even a zebra, would save a fortune in mane and tail conditioner!!

And lastly a grey PRE stallion with extra long mane that never rolled in mud!

I have a purebred Highland, he shares a field with a purebred Fjord and an Icelandic pony

There's also a lippizaner gelding at the stables where I help, and he's absolutely gorgeous. The palest of greys, with a long white mane and a personality like a puddy cat

Actually neither do I, it belongs to a friend of a friend, I went to see it last year and couldnt believe how hooooooge it was. Bigger than merlin, much bigger and he is 15.1hh

Guess what it is, clue is that its huge and has a head like an elephant!!!!

My friend has an Ersky pony, he is so cute. I sometimes think I would quite like one of those.

Although he is also EXTREMELY naughty and thinks it is hillarious to tip people over his head repeatedly for the first ten minutes of every ride. And I mean all four feet of the ground, head between his knees spin/buck/leaps... After that he is good as gold
