Just an addition to my 'bit of a gloat' post, when I applied for electricity I was told I needed an address for the stables, 'the field's wasn't good enough. As I I phoned the local council and a very nice man said no problem, what address would you like. I have him the name the field was known aslocally, and he said that was fine, he would e-mail me the details in the next half hour. To my surprise he did! Sent details to leccie board, and went on holiday.
Got back to find a letter telling me some one would be round on Friday to assess stables for business rates! Phoned and said it wasn't a business, but he said there were only business or domestic rates. He then said I could give him the details over the phone and he wouldn't need to visit. The got a letter, £200 a year, back dated to when we bought the field three years ago, £600 total! I was not happy, so phoned council, and was eventually told I could apply for rate relief as I only had one business premises. Guess what? 100 pet cent rate relief, panic over! What a waste of time and money.

No wonder Council Tax keeps going up!! How much did that all cost them to administer? Glad common sense prevailed.

Oh yes, I'm expecting that to happen, just like they did with diesel. One day the best thing since sliced bread (What was the best thing before sliced bread?) next the son of Satan! Sorry, person of Satan.

I can assure you that that point crossed my mind more than once, in fact not only crossed but paused for some time. Must admit the solar panel/battery/led floods worked ok, but now able to use power tools, kettle etc. Working on swmbo with regard to comfy chair/TV/stereo/jacuzzi.
