People are just horrible!!! Can't imagine what kind of person you have to be to allow that to happen to a baby.
My grandmother tells me that during the occupation (in Greece) in WWII there was such a shortage of food that the rats had gotten really wild and she had to stay up all night to stop them from eating my mother's toes and fingers!!!

I read this story this morning and it certainly is a strange one. Certainly brings the work of James Herbert well and truly to life though doesn't it. Reminds me of the opening scene in the novel The Rats, which I found very, very hard to come to terms with, even though it was just a fictional story.
This is reality though and is very bizarre. I really didn't know that rats would do that at all in a situation like that. I could have expected it to happen in a poor undeveloped country where the standard of living was very poor and rats were a huge problem.
But this happened in a motor home of all things. All I can say is wtf were the living conditions like inside that place?

To be so helpless in a situation like that. Surely the parents must have heard the child screaming/crying in relation to losing flesh and bone like that.
Some people really do not deserve to have children do they.

OMG, how could she not take the child for treatment?!?!!? Imean she must have noticed. What a wicked evil person. I actually hope that she has mental issues and that it isnt that she is that cruel.

Medical treatment isn't free in the US. If there were 5 members of the family living in one caravan, they don't sound like they have the most money.
