I'm thinking of trying raw chicken wings with my 4 month old puppy. He is currently on 3 meals a day so do I substitute one of the meals purely with the raw wings or feed alongside his Orijen puppy food?

Anyone else feed raw and do you think it is more beneficial ?

Try to get the wings with wing tips, as the tips are really easy to eat. I have my cat on wings nearly every day, and I use a sharp knife to cut them up long ways, also if I have thighs or drumsticks I scrape the tendons and sinews off the big bone which I don;t feed in case of choking. I would feed a little bit every meal and increase the proportion of raw over two months. Loads of recipes on You tube.
If you have a meat grinder [mincer] you can feed the larger raw bones through the mincer. I think it can be cheaper and healthier, but you need to make sure he gets fish oil or similar and a good variety of foods.
Never feed cooked bones as they are liable to splinter.
Introduce offal [10% of diet very slowly as it can cause the squits]

Look up Raw feeding Advice and Support on facebook. I feed raw, the benefits are softer coat, cleaner teeth, less doggy smell, smaller poo's and a happy healthy dog.
