Raw feeding - digestion rates

I know every dog will be different but in general does anyone know how long it is between a dog eating a raw meal ( Natural Instinct so a mix of meat, bone & veg ) and it needing a pooh?

I am trying to change feeding times to stop my 8 month old EBT pup needing a pooh at 4am every night :mad:

I can't decide whether to feed her at 3 ish after her lunch time walk or 8 ish after her evening walk - I normally feed at 5. Logic says if I feed at 5 and she gets up at 4 then if I feed at 8ish she can go through to breakfast, however I haven't fed her any tea at all today (cruel I know!) and she has just had a pooh on our walk which is 12 hours after breakfast.

The internet isn't much help as it says anything between 5 - 6 hours or 10 - 12 hours. I thought by not feeding her tea tonight (drastic measures but I'm getting desperate) I would see when her last pooh is since breakfast but is it possible she'll still be poohing out what she's eaten over the last day or 2?
 
She won't die if she misses a meal so don't feel too bad.

Mine gets a bit of dry food from my pocket on his morning walk and then a chicken carcass and tripe at about 9amish and he usually holds it until about 7.30-8pm, gets bits and bobs of dry food from my pocket and then tripe or beef chunks at about 10/11pm and again holds it until 7.30-8am.


Also bear in mind it might be the sunrise waking her up. It's about 4am up here.

Apart from literally keeling over she was making it very obvious she had missed her tea last night - sitting by the food cupboard whining and doing quite a lot of sighing!

Thank you CaveCanem, yours does seem to hold it for a decent length of time which makes the 10 - 12 hours info on the internet seem likely. My 2 rotties never have a problem with being fed at 5 and not poohing until the morning even though they get taken out during the evening and often don't go.

She has always had me up at 4 since the day she arrived, I've posted about it before, and I've been trying not to pander to her and get up because sometimes she just wanders about and doesn't actually need to go out. I thought by not getting up unless she goes down to the front door I might break the habit. However recently she has poohed in the house at this time which is unusual. I then put her back in the crate overnight which she has been out of for some time, and the night before last she poohed in the crate - she didn't even do that as a puppy so it's the first time since having her that she's poohed in there. Each time she has poohed indoors she hasn't asked to go out.

Last night she didn't get any tea and I could hear her fidgeting in the crate at 1 am so I got up to put her out and she did a pooh which put a spanner in the works because I imagined no tea = no overnight pooh :(

She isn't poorly in any way so I'm trying to cover every option and look at changing her meal times to see if this helps. From what you say I may be wise to try and feed her later and see how it goes.
 
Mine dislikes poohing/peeing on concrete which might explain why he holds it so long!!

Maybe asked before, what kind of crate is it? I use an airline crate which is much more enclosed/covered and the wire crates do creak much more which again, might be adding to the vicious cycle of disturbance/waking up.
