Raw fish...

Yes - mine has raw fresh sardines (whole) and loves them - but he is a labrador and that is what they are supposed to eat!

Definiately fine for them tho. And you don't need to freeze first like you do with raw meat/ bones - which is good.

Mine also eats them frozen like lollies (YUK) - as I keep some in freezer too!

I know they aren't supposed to eat Salmon and Tuna (levels of mercury in tuna I think).

Depends on where the trout is from - cos if is farmed like salmon there are probs with chemicals aren't there - but wild salmon would be ok for them - is just like for people - I think we not meant to eat too much salmon either due to the way it is produced.

When you say trout - do you mean wild type stuff as it is like salmon isn't it?

I know they can eat other oily or white fish though... Will double check re: trout.

Yes - the bones are safe in fish.

They're out of our lake, so no chemicals (that I know of), been in the freezer, been in a bit long for us to eat now, it would only be once in a blue moon that they had it. I just thought with the chicken carcasses and lamb bones e.t.c they aren't getting any oily fish!

That would be fine - is just the chemicals in farmed salmon that are bad!

Mine has oily fish every week - am sure they will love it

Am guessing historically fish probably would have been part of their diets anyway? Possibly? Am sure milor would know for sure!

Well Skye had a big trout from the lake and loved it...ate everything!

Bria picked over trout from our local stream and Nero scoffed 4 small brown trout and even nicked the head off of one of Bria's so they went down a treat!
