thought we might try the dogs on raw..

mum came home from butchers with two raw bones which cost 20p (not bad!) and dog's don't want them! both sniffed and licked but don't want.
My year old rott however wanted to have both of them and we put one bone and one dog in a separate places, rottie got out and both dogs really started going at it and lab had rott pinned to the floor by the throat  now both seperated again but don't want the bones.

will they eat them eventually or just guard them?! rottie is kind of like "erm mum that isn't what i am meant to eat..."

scratch that, i had to pretend to eat some and tore some bits off and fed them by hand a couple times, now older dog is really getting into his bone and the rott is gingerly licking his and chewing some but mostly laying near it

Just be aware of potential object guarding and entry/exit points to rooms and the manner of entry and exit, some dogs charging through doors trying to get to, or carrying an object, can spark conflict but sounds like you have it sorted already :)
If you look at a lot of scraps that happen in the house, they happen near doorways.

yep, both bones taken away now they can have them back to nosh on tomorrow. they'll be kept apart from now on whenever the bones are out though and i think out of eyesight as rottie was far too focused on guarding his bone than eating it!
