RAW friendly dry foods?? For emergencies :-)

My lurcher lives on a raw diet but I'm keen to find a back up dried food that can be used for travelling and emergencies (i.e forgot to take meat out of the freezer!). I know people say it's bad to combine raw with dry food but she's never shown any reaction to when she's had to have standard dog food. I would just rather find a really raw-friendly food so our efforts don't go to waste when she has to have dry food. If that makes sense!

Any recommendations? Preferably that aren't ridiculously pricey, but I understand you pay for quality! 😣
 
It's not that they show any reactions, it's due to the different ways the foods pass though their bowels. Combining the two can result in bloat, impaction and torsion similar to that seen in horses. They say to improve the safety you leave at least 12 hours between feeding raw and dry.

ETA - if I forget to take the meat out of the freezer they just have meaty ice lollies. Not ideal in winter though...

ETA2 - in emergencies I have bought turkey drumsticks from ASDA. They are the perfect size for a lurcher and about 85p each.
 
I feed raw and dry together, never had a problem, although I never give much dry.

For high meat content, I'd say Orijen/Acana or Wainwright's Fishmongers.
 
I use tinned chappie in emergencies. Lily cannot have dry food due to bloat issues. Dry food makes her gulp water which causes her to bloat. She has a belt loop gastropexy in place but has still required tubing twice since when she ram raided dry food. No dry food in house now
 
i have a bag of Barking heads kibble for emergencies. Mine are raw fed 99% of the time. But I have also resorted to the odd tin of dog food in an emergency. Mine dont like chicken legs or thighs, but will eat raw mince happily or any other meat I can grab for an exhorbitantly high cost at the local open all hours shop. The other choice is Natures Menu do tins as well so a few in a cupboard as back up will work perfectly. I also buy natures menu square blocks of frozen raw, those I can defrost in the microwave quite quickly and are easy enough to travel with for a couple of days.
 
I almost always feed frozen, so your first emergency wouldn't be an emergency to me. When travelling I mainly use K9 Naturals which I keep a bag of in the camper van - he gets that once or twice a week when I'm away for the evening with no problems, just needs a little warm water. I also keep tins of fish and packets or Applaws or similar in the van - these are cooked but they don't bother him, the packets are just shredded cooked chicken and veg, no rice, no beef/pork/ham because these upset him cooked.
I have used various dried foods but they deteriorate faster than I can use them and have more of a detrimental effect - but tinned fish is great to have on hand!
