Alf been on raw 3 years now. I bought him some pigs trotters as hes not had them before. Anyway he ate one in the garden and i KNOW the other is buried somewhere!! He didnt have time to eat it. Now this will probably get dug back up over the next few days but will it be ok for him?? I worry that with it being meat and not kept ion the fridge that it was give him food poisoning??

It will be fine!!!! Most dogs can very easily tolerate things that have been long dead :) Dogs are natural scavengers and so this is natural for them - don't worry.

Mine like theirs really gamey and will eat some pretty disgusting stuff! Once a dog has been on raw for a while their digestive system starts to work properly again, they have a naturally high acidity level and a short gut with food going through in hours, so that the nasty's that would kill us cannot take hold and fester, so that's how they can bury things and dig them up later for another go!

Ha ok good! Then i suppose the only thing i need to worry about is him bringing it in the house behind my back and finding it burried in the sofa!!

You'll probably smell it coming!

My Lab loves her food really, really "high" - considers finding a long-dead piece of rabbit/pheasant/badger out on a walk to be a real bonus.
