Off your high horse please, anyone would think you were employed by the BRC.....

I am one of the hard workers that run events, organise the teams, clinics and are on the committee. So I know full well that complaining via the correct channels is a) going to cause trouble and b) going to do diddly

I already complained to the BRC over their stupid hat rule, and dress codes. But the BHS powers that be have made it perfectly clear that we need the rules and regulations fitting the demeanour of the organisation - i.e petty and ill thought out. Plus they never actually freely publish the rules anyway, do they really NEED the £6 from selling their book??? Every other organisation has managed to PDF and make their rules available online.

The championships are a joke - you are collecting what I consider to be a fair whack from the prelim fees and not giving it back to all members or making the championships that good. Again I query the administration, i cannot find the BRC accounts on the website otherwise I'd have a jolly good trawl through them!

Oh good Lord don't start me on the rules and their inability to make sensible decisions. My horse was ONE day early on his vaccinations (having had to restart them twice before for other reasons) and BRC REFUSED to accept him as being within the jockey club rules- fair enough he was out by one day (early) as I say so I admit he wasn't in the correct time frame. But When I asked them if I could have the 3rd part given later within the correct time frame they refused and made me start again- for the THIRD time- all because even though he was covered up to the hilt they couldn't see logic and allow us to conform to the right period without starting again. I asked to appeal to the competitions committee as I was less than happy to have my horse vaccinated for the third time in just over 3 years and they told me there was absolutely NO chance that they would allow us to jab him the third part in the correct time frame. The vets were livid as it was half their fault for giving me the wrong date and half my fault for believing them and not checking and they couldn't understand why BRC were being so silly over it. Also, if the vet and I were dishonest we could just have corrected the date in the passport and said we'd made an error- but as neither of us were, we complied and did as BRC told us.

Was not happy.
I also don't understand why you can't wear ear studs in dressage or a beagler when you can for BD

If anyones on their high horse it's you my dear.
You've already pointed out that people can post as they see fit. That applies to me as well as you!!!

You asked questions I answered them in a reasonable & informed manner. I've been polite throughout even though the tone of your posts has progressively because more & more antagonistic. I am not not employed by BRC or the BHS, & but like yourself am one of the hard workers.
I however know that sensible imput from members is always given due consideration.
Why don't you attend the national conference in November if you are really serious in your disatisfaction?
I don't know why you refer to the championships as being 'mine'?, but as they're such a joke I expect you're glad that you're not going aren't you? However for over 800 riding club members they're far from being a joke & they're the ones who make all the hard work at all levels so worthwhile.

I've already advised you to contact your area rep for a more detailed brealdown of the budget........if the information had been available via the website I would have advised you accordingly.

Law that's ridiculous. we've had a few that were out by a day or so, but were able to have another jab in time to meet the requirements - exactly what you're describing. If that happens again to you or anyone you know email the office or one of the reps for clarification. Really sorry that's happened to you.

My tone is no different throughout - but I am to the point, so maybe its the northern style and slang you find antagonistic. No harm intended this is a forum and this thread has given me good ideas, although not sure about passing us off as Welsh.

Anyway above I didn't mean "you" I meant "BRC", wrong wording on my part. The only thing I don't get is that without being very involved, how do you know the champs only break even?

I was just musing that in SJ'ing alone our area contributed at least £1k to the Lincoln pot, so doesn't explain why its own entry fee is so expensive or why it only breaks even.

Actually I am not bothered about Lincoln as its too far, but did like Aston le Walls, Hartpury and will be interested in the report from Offchurch.

I cannot find any information on the National conference, is that BHS or BRC?

Preliminary details of the BRC National Conference went out last week in the secretaries update. It's not on the website yet.........I think they're flat out with the Offchurch preparations, but I'll post the link as soon as it is if you like.

I am very involved with BRC as a volunteer, & I do use the available channels to ask questions such as you're asking on here, which is how I know that if you send stuff in to be discussed then it does get considered, & that you get a reply.

If you want to see the budgets they are generally published in Rider magazine at the end of the financial year, so have a look through your last few back copies,or look out for next years. Its the kind of info that often gets overlooked as compared with the articles its not perceived as being very interesting.

Yes there is a BRC National Conference it is on the 16th November. I am sure BRC would love to see you. If you have any problems get hold of your BRC Area rep thats what they are there for. If that does not work come to the BRC Confernce.
