Oh no about plaits! Toby has a mega long mane, would a running plait do as i have no chance of plaiting it normally!

What did they do, stop for a cup of tea? 
If it's purely judged on the rider it will be very interesting having two horses in it. I'll take bets on which one I get the better mark (and I know which my money's on!).

I have looked at my sheet from last year & all remarks are about having a more forward canter.
Just another thought, there are 3 arenas at White House Farm & the style jumping was put in the biggest of the 3 thus giving you lots of space to waste time!

The time is tight and actually faster than normal SJ time, so as soon as you have a stop, or wobble, the time faults kick in.

You don't have to plait ! See links to rules/criteria in my post above !
There are no marks for turnout, just present correctly dressed
with the correct tack on a clean horse/pony ! That'll be fine.

Speed is 350 m/m. 25 m/m faster than other BRC show jumping competitions.

Did the Malvern one just recently for the first time - I didn't have to plait (although had a panic when I got there, so checked with the judge!). Wasn't expecting to do that well, as 'style' and jumping don't really come together for me and the pony on a regular basis!
However, course was lovely - big enough, but nothing technical, and even if you knock them down you'll only get two penalties knocked off (unless it was a rider fault, in which case the judges don't like it!) My mare knocked the style, but I lost no additional 'rider' marks as she just left a leg. On the other hand, was slated for fence one, as rode at it as though the hounds of hell were chasing me and drove her through the top rail :-( - naughty mum..!!
All our team really enjoyed it, and we managed to scrape team 6th too - so got a lovely rosette to feel proud of.
My advice - go and enjoy - it will not be as difficult or stressful as you are imagining!!
