Which would you join...am looking at the different branches in Kent, and there are plenty of PCs and RCs. I don't know whether to join one or the other? Am 16, so I don't know if there is an age limit? Looking to do all sorts esp SJ and XC...which would you pick??

You aren't too old for PC. Depends on what you are looking for I'd do PC as they tend to offer more in terms of training and variety of activities and offer stuff year round where as RC tend to be more limited to the summer.

I'd join RC but I love the RC I've been a member of for a few years (not rejoined this year as nedless) and I'm not hugely competative so RC more laid back atmosphere suits me beter...depends on how competative you are I suppose.

I'm not competitive atm (exams etc...) But I would like to do ODE etc...so would PC be the best option, do you think?

the more the better, I want to have a crack at everything.

At your age I would go for PC, they offer lots of training and clinics as well as competitions in all equestrian disciplines, RC is great but clinics tend to me a lot more expensive than Pc equivalents, shows and events are often restricted to members only or only allow non members in open classes so you have more options. All our RC events are open with members accruing points and paying slightly less for entry so thee is nohing to stop you joining PC and still doing RC events.

oh right, so I could get the best of both worlds. I think I will join PC - more fun anyway

well i am i both and love RC ... find the poeple a lot more helpful and you have the input of adults as well..also the training i get with RC is of better quality than PC.
it does depend on the area you are in and the clubs near you.

I agree that it does depend on the area because i find PC much better quality and more well organized than RC
