I have been researching unshod/barefoot because of all the threads on here and because my new farrier mentioned that he'd like to try my mare barefoot. Anyhoo... I have decided to try it. The farrier is coming on the 29th and I'll talk it all through with him then, he popped in the other day as he was passing and had lost my phone number, while he was here he checked her over in the field. I'm really hopeful that she'll soon be sound (abscess is still not quite gone 
but the farrier is sure that it'll be fine soon) and happy.
