If you saw my post last week, you will already know the awful problems I was (and am still having) with my livery yard. Anyone who posted a reply, but didn't have phone no's etc, please can send me a PM if you now have details.
'Desperate' has lead to 'Critical - Desperately Urgent'. This last week has been so bad at my yard I can't describe it without becoming upset. I arrived at the Yard on Thurs 7 Jan and there was no water, but no-one let me know about it. My horse had drunk all the water in her stable, don't know how long she had been without water (stable has automatic water feeder + I leave a full bucket, just in case) and I live 10, miles away, so I had to go home and fill bottles and take it back. I have had to do this three times a day ever since.
To make matters worse, the lessee has forbidden me to turn out my mare, even while I muck her out.
The final straw was when my key snapped in a padlock, which someone (I wonder who!!!) had put glue in. The lessee won't give me a new key, ergo I can't get my car into the Yard, so I have to trudge over very slippery, icy paths, lugging thirty litres of water, two large hay nets, and a heavy feed bucket three times a day.
Please, does anyone have even temporary emergency livery, whilst I find somewhere else more permanent. Or better still long term livery not too far from York/Tadcaster area.
To the people who replied last week. If you gave me names AND numbers before, I did try them but they are full. If you were going to find out no's I'd be grateful for a PM asap.

Oh gosh how awful, im in Lancs or i wud have had some numbers for you. Hope you find somewhere very soon!

Well I know of ones nearer Leeds way

Rigton Carr Farm, Wike, Nr Bardsey 01937 573 293

Wood Farm, Scarcroft, Leeds 0113 289 2225

They are not that far from Tadcaster but then I don't know which side of Tad you are.

We have access to a large field which you might be able to use for a while, if desperate, but we are about 12 miles east of Selby (opposite side to Taddy), heading towards Holme of Spalding Moor, so might not be of any use to you.
Let me know if you'd be willing to travel and I'll contact my YO to see if she can help.

I did ask my friend but unfortunately she is not looking for a livery at the moment, sorry!

Have you tried the livery yard in Stutton? I don't know what it's called, but if you drive into the village of Stutton (it's just outside the village, you'll see the village is made up pretty much of a main road, turn right off that onto a road that just bends round and brings you back onto the road you came from, but at the top of the bend by the school there is another lane. Take that lane, it takes you under a disused railway bridge, keep going and at the end of the road is the livery yard.

That sounds awful. I don't know that area too well, but will try some suggestions around there, and some stables nearer to me (wetherby) aswell.

Thats all the ones in my area that I can think of at the moment? Have you tried escrick park? I can recommend most of those from personal experience of seeing the yards etc, have never been a livery on them.

Poor you. Really feel for you as I know what a nightmare being on livery somewhere you don't like is. Unfortunately we don't do diy on my yard or I'm sure we could have found space somewhere. We're at Boroughbridge too so bit further than you wanted. If you wanted full or part livery for a short time while you get sorted then get in touch (pm). Hope you get sorted soon x

Have you tried Red House or Thick Penny Forge?(Jill the YO is lovely) They are both on the A59 going into York? -Sorry I don't have any spare stables or I would offer you one in the short term. Good Luck!

I would offer you grass (hay!) livery in the short term, but we only have geldings - mares cause problems in our lot. Are you anywhere near being sorted?

So sorry to hear you are having problems, but I am at the other end of the county so no use. Just wanted to sympathise with you.

Have you tried Askham Bryan college as a temp measure? Long shot, but is all I can think of. There was a sign on the side of the A64 at the exit from Tad towards York advertising livery with an indoor school as well?
