Further to my post yesterday after the farrier had been out and said my old companion loan pony has got foot rot has got worse today.Arrived up yard this morning to find her still hopping lame and almost depressed looking. So, I called vet.
Bear in mind i've been battling since april with cracked feet. Anyhow vet arrived and said seedy toe and that what i'm doing is correct regarding iodine and bute and as much time out as possible. He's given me more bute and told me to up it to one sachet rather than half.
The most worrying thing is that he's mentioned cushings. She is very wooly and got the same last year and its not curly!!
My predicament is this:
1. Pony is only on loan as a companion ie. does not belong to me!!
2. I was rather hoping to get her feet right and send her home
3.I don't want to be spending money on loads of tests
4.Owners don't really care and NEVER contact me.....i've had her 18 months now
5. She's a sweet little thing and the whole family adore her
6. I feel heartless!!
