Re: High Viz. Here's mine, what do you wear?

Well beings that you've whipped the cream I'd better come as well then!

Apologies for not being more direct, I just felt you were in the firing line a bit when all you'd said was "I wear High Viz"

I'm just glad I'm on a yard with lovely people!!

Humble pie is quite yummy, so I'm told.

I'm pretty antisocial....well it might appear that way...but it's only because I have my horses at home on our farm. Actually, it'd be nice to have a small yard of lovely people.

As for being in the firing line....have no fear...I have broad shoulders for a girlie.

And sometimes wears this

Although the hi-viz is a little big for him, its better than nothing Until I can get him something better , Personallly still think it does the same job , the more material the better I suppose .

Also I always see patches wearing hi fiz , the way I see it ...some is always better than nothing , I dont see a problem I just think that comment on the different photos was uncalled for .

The highlight about Hi-Viz is to make EVERY SINGLE PERSON review what they use and whether it is sufficient, not for people to say "ohhh you may have hi-viz NOW but you didn't THEN" - Jesus, I have ridden more times without than with (prob about 1000 fold TBH) and have only recently realised how important hi-viz is, especially in the winter. Stop getting at Patches, she absolutely NEVER goes out without hi-viz on, EVER! This isn't a point scoring competition

Is it really that katy person?! LOL!

Anyway Patches: I still can't quite believe how you keep her so clean!!! I have a dark bay horse and you can still see the dirt on her! Love your legbands too

I always wear a hat band to ride out in, but as our hacking doesn't go on a road I don't usually have anything else. If going on the road then Horse has a breastplate and sheet if its raining/ freezing (have a rather cool pink/blue aerborn wrap around sheet with reflective strips on!!) and I have a tabard. Would also have legbands on if she had brushing boots on, but they're too wide for her tiny little legs without brushing boots on!

For goodness sake Charlie - get a grip.

Patches, good for you. I suspect that everyone does, on the odd occasion mislay some part of their gear.

I use a Tabard, rein sleeves, breast collar cover or martingale, and a banner on the back of the carriage. I want some hi-viz leg bands but at the moment can't find any small enough (I don't ride, I now only drive)

Patches. You've clearly made your mind up that I am another member in disguise.

Can I ask how you came to realise that and then have enough proof as to make such a definite statement to say I am this other member who has apparently been banned? If you had messaged me before posting I would have told you my name.

You've clearly got your head into a bit of a frenzy about this and in doing so got hold of the wrong end of the stick and thrown it to the lions. I don't recall saying you were a bad mother or that you have never worn Hi Viz before. In reference to you being a mother (which I guess from your previous posts, that you are a mother, unless you post pictures of a neice riding in which case I apologise), I would have thought even you would see that there is a major difference in how visible you are in the two photos. In using the two photos you can show an example of how just a set of leg bands and a tabard can make you stand out on a winters day.

I apologise if my method of posting has made me appear to be harsh and spiteful, that was not my intention, my intention was to make you look twice and see that the second photo was a substantial improvement on the first, and that we should all aim to collect as much Hi Viz and wear it each time we go out, regardless of how many vehicles are on our roads.

And in reply to the person who queried what Hi Viz I wear, I have an exercise sheet (which has gained us a few comments on how much more visible we are), I have a tabard for summer use (In fact I have one of each green, yellow, pink and orange), I have chaps, leg bands, noseband cover, and hat cover. I can safely say we cannot be missed by drivers even on windy country lanes

And the point was to show patches that her 'before' photo showed inadequate Hi Viz. I wouldnt know wether Patches wears Hi Viz each time she goes out for I do not know Patches. I don't think I ever suggested she didnt go out with Hi Viz on.

I wasnt aware that pointing something out to someone, something which I felt was important (Patches in her before photo going out in dark clothing with just a hat band and a thin piece of hi viz across her body) was 'getting at' them. I've clearly become the big nasty wolf who picks on patches... oh well. If ONE person here looks at that picture and realises that it did make for a murky picture (and what it must appear to a car driver), and decides to buy a set of leg bands and a proper tabard then my point will have been made.

To be fair, Charlie, a lot of people have come to the same conclusion. There are certain similarities between you and Katy. You're obviously not a complete newbie as you seem to have a very good grasp of forum history and know JavaJane. Perhaps you could tell us a bit about yourself and clear up any misunderstandings

I've just had a lovely pm conversation with Charlie (Pat) where I have apologised sincerely if I have jumped to the wrong conclusion with regards to her being the member formally known as Katy.
