Does anyone remember the horse who did x country courses with no bridle? I think he was called 'Waccabuck' or something similar and his rider was Scottish. She had perfect control using her weight and as a balancing aid she had a neckstrap on him.
 
Someone in Cornwall used to XC without a bridle too, and what a rider, very successful. Sadly, I have no idea of their name

Rider was Shuna Mardon sister of eventer Lorna Clarke.
Shuna rode several horses bridleless, probably the most well known was the mare Strathdon. Waccubuck was an imported quarter horse stallion who she also rode bridleless. She evented and showjumped bridless, she wrote a book called "Riding Free" of which I have a signed copy as I used to work for her.

Just curious have you any idea why she changed the horses name from Tuffy Dude to Wacccabuc ???
