Re: Lennox loophole... could this be it?

How come it's taken an American newspaper to report this and we're not hearing anything about this over here.
I think I can smell the bulls*&t over this case from here, will be interesting to see where this goes and will the dog be the same if/when they get him back as the care he's been receiving doesn't appear to have been very good.
What about kennel hands etc that have handled him have they been involved?

The only hope is this, and ,if it can be afforded the family should contact The Small Holders Group as solicitors ..who positively relish this sort of case and are often successful.Robert Killick writes in Our Dogs,he knows lots and is on side ,worth ringing him.

The Daily Mirror's local edition did report this and it was posted here the other day (by me :p).
I have a feeling it was not reported so much in the rest of the UK because the law is slightly different in Northern Ireland, dogs pf 'type' are not allowed to live, there are no exemptions (muzzling, leashing, neutering, registration etc).

How are Asty and Honey? :)

When I emailed Befast CC I did remind them the world was watching and the wrong outcome for this case would not go un-noticed or unreported. Perhaps someone more able than me could send the link of this Canadian Newspaper to Belfast CC.

Sorry not been on the website since Friday and didn't see the update, just incase you're waiting on a response I don't have dogs called Asty or Honey (mines are called coooommmmmmeeeee and LEAVE)

I have wondered whether BCC are hoping this goes through because Lennox is not the dog he was. 18 months of torture, dreadful conditions etc and being away from his family whilst he has been in solitary confinement very possibly has changed his temperament and he may be NOW a dog waiting to explode. Imagine the controversy if he goes home and then does bite. And its all down to the incompetence of BCC and their dog wardens that have sentenced this lovely dog to death.

Honey & Asty are good. Asty is now a year old and still a thieving puppy albeit a wonderfully loving thieving puppy. Honey is the perfect dog at home but the most neurotic dog outside of the house. No amount of desensitizing we do makes any difference she is just awful to take anywhere near other dogs (she is not aggressive as such but is full on yelling, shouting, lungeing etc to the point she exhausts herself. But we love her :-)

Selfishly I hope he does make it home and am sure that the family will take his abscence into consideration - and possibly a dog trainer too to help him readjust. Selfishly because the ripple effect of this would be awful.

I also wonder if the BCC now feels it is too deep to back out now and there is no chance that the dog warden will back down - it is very likely she has lied (I am being careful what I say - this isn't over yet), and would surely lose her job if she admitted it. Please do not feel I am in any sympathy or on the side of the council in even the smallest amount. Just adding in some additonial facts..

Could you put up the link? so others can also email directly? did you have a contact name or was it a general email?

Going back to the very start of this: IF there was no complaint about a "Section B" dog ,why did the dog warden visit? That is abnormal.Secondly, they turned up to seize with the wrong paperwork, that should have seen the case out ,gone, with any decent solicitor.
I don`t know this family, the dog sounds ok,but some of them are beyond belief. My Dog Warden friend told me of one Section B ,their owners reclaim straight from the vet where chipping/thigh tattooing and neutering are done, one of them last week turned up to collect ..no lead, collar or MUZZLE. Apparently the vet propelled her `round Pets At Home buying the required stuff to comply with the section B rules before she took her lucky dog home.Unbelievable..but TRUE !
