RE: little fleas post..

Sounds like some people need to get more interesting lives...

I have a colourful coblet/ponio/cow pony/neddy and I am his mummy!

And I'm absolutely not I'm 'bloody immature' at all!
They're called terms of endearment.

Oh God I am so in trouble here is a list of my crimes :-

Previous horse - referred to as Sexy when he had a bath he always looked drop dead gorgeous when wet.

Current horse looks sexy, referred to as Horse Too BIg the Big Lump, Annies Donkey (OH) and the Big Pony.

I suppose your going to beat me with Wet Celery now!!

Well, I have a pony, and I refer to it as a pony, so that's all good!
laugh.gif
The "mum" thing gets me too; as does "litte man" for baby boys (I'm not even sure why that bugs me so much).

I do confess I find myself accidentally praising 17hh+ horses, when I happen to be sitting on them, by saying "good pony", but I suspect that's more because I'm usually saying that to my pony. In any case, I quickly correct myself to "good giant mega-horse" instead!

So would you find it immature if I called my horse "mule"?

have to admit, seems bit immature of you JMO7 to not accept terms of enderment
tongue.gif
pone, ponio, coblet whatever, they are all at the end of the day 4 legged quadrupets.

Except that ponio etc. are often easier to say

Don't worry, seems JM doesn't have manners OR a sense of humour, no need to get personal IMO though. However it'd take a lot more to offend me, I'm well aware my horse isn't everyone's cup of tea, although to me he's a stunner. But then, not everyone likes TBs, Arabs, Welshies... the list goes on!

and why oh why do people with bloody big horses refer to them as "my pony" it's not a sodding pony it's a 17.2hh eating machine!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Because the bloody great pink thing behaves alot like a pony, and gets himself into all sorts of trouble because of it!!

Not sure I used pone before I was on here, so I think its something on the forum thats contagious!
grin.gif

don't do ponio though
or coblet (though I spose he could be one of those)

I think ned is the horse version of pone.

pony sounds a bit twee, aka my little, and frank isn't really twee (hence 'Frank')

Not read relevant thread yet, but ' broken' instead of injured or ill annoys me somewhat.

I'll use whatever I damn well please describe my horses/ponies....cobbie is a favourite...dare say that'll annoy the annoyable...immature? maybe but I'd rather be immature than easily irritated...

My gelding was "his highness" or " his lordship". The section A was Small white article. And my mare is "her ladyship" or her highness. I have to admit though Ido refer to 16hh of chestnut mare as "pony" though

I call my boys.......... the boys and Coco my Shetland gets called Coco Pony.

I don't like it when people call Shetlands Sh*tlands, I just find it, on behalf of all the Shetlands out there, offensive and rude!
