Thought I would put an extra post on as so many people have sent me good luck wishes I am so extremely humbled and amazed that all these people who don't know me from Adam are so caring and thoughtful! Thank you very very much!

Went back late this afternoon and one of the girls at the yard is a vet nurse at one of the colleges she said it would be preferable to cross tie him, she phoned 2 vets she works with and they both said the same so to be on the safe side we have done this as they were all worried he may twist on the bad leg (which he had been doing during the day as he didn't want to move or lift it) and it may stress the fracture.
Thankfully he has 2 rings at the door for his chain so we could use those and put up 2 hay nets.

My friend drove me to our 24 hour Tesco (thank god for Tesco!!) and I got a couple of buckets to hang on the door so he has water and can have his feeds and we bought a little radio too! When we got back to the yard it was 9.30 and he was dosing and looked very settled. He didn't know I was there as he didn't recognise the car but as soon as he heard me talking he woke up and started knickering at me!! (or what ever that thing is called they do with their noses!). His stable is at the front of the yard so he sees all the comings and goings all day long and my friend next door has said that I can put her horse in for a few hours each day to keep him company if I want which I am sure he will appreciate!

Thanks to everyone who has given me hope and told about their horses pulling through, just can't imagine him at the moment having to stand up for 6-8 weeks! But obviously it's doable! Thankfully I can spend a lot of time with him at the moment as my work is quiet this time of year so suppose that's a bonus! and thank god he is insured!

Will be sorting out the lickits, apples for bobbing, swedes etc etc etc tomorrow! Thanks once again for all your kind thoughts, vibes and messages, hints and tips it really means so much to me, it really does.

By the way he isn't as big as he looks in the photo he's a smidge over 16hh!! Big enough though for a cob, I bought him as a 15.1 and have always said that he didn't read the cob handbook when he was born!!
xxxxxxx

didn't get on here yesterday so only just seen this. Sending both of you lots and lots of healing vibes xxxxxx

I didn't see this yesterday either. Wanted to wish you both all the luck in the world. Sending tons and tons of healing vibes and good wishes.

I hope all goes well with the rehab. You're a caring owner & it appears you have a cob with a calm temperment so hopefully he'll cope well with the box rest...........keep us all posted as to how he progresses.......good luck

Good luck with his recovery....

I have another success story - my gelding fractured his cannon bone in training, took 6 months of rehab to get him right but he went on to race again and he's doing a bit of everything with me... Thankfully now a fractured leg isnt the end of the world...

I really hope his recovery goes well. It will be a tough few weeks for you both but you seem like the sort of person who can cope! And he is such a gorgeous boy, he is worth going through some tough times for.

Very sorry to hear about this as he looks (and obviously is a lovely horse) Nice to hear about the other sucess stories as it must be encouraging. Keep us up to date with his progress.
Sending healing vibes on their way.
