I posted a short while ago saying that I needed some motivation to go and actually spend some time with Ethel. Well, as I had the day off work today, I did just that :) I changed her bed from shavings to straw which for some odd reason I actually enojyed doing, despite the 7 trips to the muck heap which is through the muddy field as she has been deep littered all winter :p I then brought her and her fieldmate in and let Ethel have a run around in the school, and run around is exactly what she did .. for AGES! She wouldn't stop when I wanted to catch her take her back in so I thought, perfect time for some join up :) I'm glad I did it, it was hard work as she was reluctant to join up with me, but we eventually got there and soon enough she was following me around the school, when I ran she trotted after me, when I stopped she stopped too and it just made me really happy. I don't have any pictures of that, I wish I did but there is never anyone with me at the yard, but afterwards I gave her a groom and put her new rugs on to see if they fit and got some pics :)

Also, how do you think she is looking? I think she's pretty good for a poor doing TB coming out of winter :)

ETA - Ignore her neck!! It's a work in progress! :p
:D :D :D

I think she is looking well, say nothing about the neck as you said :P but yeah looking great, I also LOVE the purple rug :D

Hehe :p I did start lunging her in a chambon to try and help .. but then the lack of motivation hit so haven't been doing anything recently, but now I'm going to start again and hopefully that will help her neck a bit. When I saw the rug I HAD to buy it! Ethel's colour is purple but none of the rugs I bought her before came in purple, so when I saw that one it just had to be done :p

Thank you Rgoldenfilly :) It was a good day and I feel ready to do more with her now :D

Love the name Ethel! Just tickles me for some reason. Weightwise shes looking just right, (yes neck does need a little building up ;) What do you fed her? Join up is good fun, i tried it with my boy for the first time the other week :)

Hahad it is a strange name isn't it :p She is fed Alfa A Oil, Recoup, Speedibeet and adlib hay :) We have done join up before, but she likes to pretend she has no idea what's going on and can therefore charge around squealing her head off and having a bucking fit

It's nice to have a horsey day! I had a baby 5 weeks ago so my horse was being cared for by my mum during the end of the pregnancy, I was starting to think he wasn't going to fit into my busier life now, but spent a day last week pampering my horse which hasn't had a 'proper' groom in months  and really enjoyed bonding with him again, as he did! And it made me realise I WILL make him fit in, he has too. I love having him too much :)

Can't wait to start my lessons again as they always motivate me to progress!
